Armor Abilities and Dual Wielding in H5?

We all know AA’s were taken out in favor of Spartan abilities, an chances are slim for a Dual Wielding return, but I’m asking why must they be taken out? I actually enjoyed Dual Wielding and thought AA’s were decent, so could anybody please reason why they’re absent?

In previous Halo games, any weapon that could be dual-wielded was considerably weak when used alone, which made dual-wielding said weapon a necessity if you really wanted to use it. Even then, going into battle with two guns had serious drawbacks. Most dual-wieldable weapons lacked the much needed range in order to stand a chance against players using the Battle Rifle, and you couldn’t use your grenades or melee without dropping your second weapon.

343 is designing Halo 5 with competitive play in mind, and they don’t want the Battle Rifle to be the only relevant weapon in multiplayer. They want each weapon to have a purpose, and so one-handed weapons like the magnum and SMG have been significantly buffed. If they let these weapons be dual-wieldable, then they may either become overpowered or back to being underpowered. Many of us were satisfied by the weapon balance in the beta, and so we don’t want to jeopardize that balance.
