ARG

Would anyone else really like to see a good ARG leading into the Halo 5/Xbox One reveal? You would know what I mean if you were here in Waypoint during the Project Icefly fiasco, which seemed at first a lot like a Halo ARG but slowly it became apparent that it was actually an ARG for 5 gum- that wasn’t an extreme disappointment for the Waypoint community.

The point is, ARGs are fun. Anyone who didn’t live under a rock was aware of the Iris and iluvbees campaigns (not me, though. I lived under a rock :p) and everyone who was part of it told me it was great fun. ARGs are meant to make you ask questions, to pose riddles and make us desperately grasp at self-made solutions. Project Icefly was amazing- as disappointing as it was to figure out it had nothing to do with Halo, it was one hell of a crazy ride.

Another benefit of ARGs are that we won’t have to wait too long for info. Some ARGs last months, and it could theoretically begin months before the game is revealed.

I would love it if Halo 5 has an ARG again. Please vote and comment.

That would be amazing. But they shouldn’t do a website to base the ARG,because then it would be just like I Love Bees. They should use something new.

Maybe they could place it on the Xbox One “desktop”.

As long as the Campaign is still good, Halo 3 had an ARG and ended up being stupid

I doubt the ARG factored into Halo 3’s storyline issues.

I’m going by the assumption the people who wrote Halo 3 did Iris, so if they put too much attention into Iris and it took away from the game, then it may be a bad idea unless a perfect balance can be found

If they can pull of something similar to Iris, then I’d be all for a Halo 5 ARG. I remember how happy I was when I helped unlock terminal 3. I got that sweet Iris poster and a Halo 3 hat. And the Terminals were our first view into the final days of the Forerunners.
And who else here was part of the Bungie.net group CompoundIntelligence? Those were the days! CI helped unravel the mystery of Iris.

They kinda already had a Halo 5 ARG. It was Hunt the Signal, in which you were an AI trying to find a way to shut down a Mark VI armor system. Look it up. It was actually pretty cool.
