Aren't specializations sort of imbalanced?

I understand that they have a very small effect on the game, but still, awarding some players with game-changing effects just because they are leveled higher just seems like a CoD-ish thing to do…

Can you give an example of any specification that is more powerful than any other in every situation?

They do seem like an unnecessary addition. Like, I really don’t think anyone would notice or care if they were gone.

Of course, they make so little difference, that I can’t really complain about them either.

Just another carrot 343 is hanging to keep people playing.

I meant that they are imbalanced to players that don’t have ANY specialization yet.

I’ve been playing against people with many different specializations and have noticed no difference in gameplay compared to the game on day 1.

Hmmm… is there any benefit of being just a regular Spartan-IV? I didn’t think there was. If I’m right about that then an example of a specialization being more powerful than any other is anyone with a specialization vs any normal Spartan-IV (i.e. less than SR-50).

you lose a support perk man its balanced

But you can unlock your first perks* after just a few matches. Specialization perks are no different than other ones. They take up a slot.

Dexterity or explosives, in my opinion are still the best. And they can be unlocked first.

I see your point, but everyone can get a Support Upgrade or Technical Package after 1-2 games online.

All of the support and tactical upgrades you get to choose from maybe?

In order to use the specializations, you have to give up either a Support or Tactical upgrade. For instance, to use the mod I got from Wetwork, I had to sacrifice Dexterity. Now, a Spartan IV can reload faster than me because I can’t use dexterity if I want to use my specialization.

Honestly, I just got to level 50 and hadn’t been using anything except the standard assault rifle and magnum until then. Didn’t use an armor ability ever. I never really had an issue. I think that shows that armor abilities add to game, but don’t necessarily unbalance them.
