To give you a little idea of why I think it is ridiculous, I will provide what I achieved in the Pre-Season and January Season:
Preseason:
SWAT - Onyx
FFA - Onyx
Slayer - Diamond(6)
Team Arena - Diamond(2)
Weekend Shotty Snipes - Platinum(1)
Community Breakout - Platinum(1)
I understand that no one received a reward for the preseason, just bare with me!
January Season:
Slayer - Onyx
Breakout - Onyx
FFA - Onyx
Holiday Doubles - Diamond(1)
SWAT - Platinum(4)
Team Arena - Platinum(4)
Now, all that being said, all a person would have had to do to receive the same Req Pack that I received would be to place Bronze(1) in the January Season in any of the playlists. I would just like to say that I enjoy Halo 5 for what it is and I truly believe it is the best game out right now right next to Fallout 4. I believe that not only should these seasonal Req Packs be weighed in favor of the people that completed more than one playlist qualifying rounds but who also scored higher in said rounds because as it sits right now, a person who plays 10 games in one playlist(Performing Poorly) is getting the same reward as a person who played 10+ games in each playlist(Giving an outstanding show of Skill). My thought is that each playlist should have its own seasonal Req Pack Reward along with a better payout for people who grinded their rank to the best they could achieve(Silver being rewarded better than Bronze, Gold rewarded better than Silver and So on w/ Champions receiving the highest reward possible).
Mini-Rant Complete…
What say you?
I play ranked to get the highest rank I can achieve and do not care what I get in regards to rewards. I don’t expect to get anything, to be honest. It’s nice of them to provide an emblem only to people who played in the first season.

I can see where you are coming from and I don’t know what you received in your pack, other than the January Emblem obviously, but I perceived the reward as a giant slap in the face for my efforts. The way it sits, I might as well grind it out in one playlist for a Champion Rank than allocate time to multiple playlists if the reward is going to be the same.

Play to achieve a better rank next season, don’t play to unlock esthetic items.
Always have played for a better rank, why should my efforts be thrown away every season if not to get a fair reward?

Yes, that’s exactly what you should do if achieving a Champion rank is your goal.

My efforts were halted when I achieved 50s in H3. I enjoy the rank resets.

You can see my reaching a certain rank and stopping would hurt 343I right? Without people rotating around playlists and trying new things, 343I would not receive the same Data they would if people changed it up. It is a benefit for 343I for people to not only play a lot but try and continue to play multiple playlists. That is why it is in their benefit to see proper reward given to players who go beyond the minimum requirement and play the game to its fullest. You don’t think there should be any type of compensation for peoples extra efforts in the arena that is fine. But I know for a fact that it hurts 343I when devoted players stop playing the game as much as they normally do when they feel they are not being rewarded fairly. Believe me when I say this, as of now, I will be playing Halo 5 less because I know my time in all of the Arena playlists are not being properly kept.
Im usually pretty happy with what I get. But they could of at least threw a couple of reqs in there, not asking for pure gold or anything. Got the emblem and like 4-5 boost cards, one was good.

If you are playing Arena and all the playlists to be rewarded, is a joke to me. I play all the playlists because I enjoy them, not because I expect to have someone provide me with a trophy saying good job, you did it, have some sprinkles on your ice cream because you are a winner.

Without Compensation, there is not Performance. Without Performance, there is no Information. Without Information there is no Progress. And, with no Progress you are left with the same game over and over again. To provide no Compensation to players that perform and provide the information, there is no progress and there is no success. Say what you will but Halo will fade away if they continue to nickel-dime and short there player population. It might not be tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year but if they continue to shovel product that the eyes no longer find pleasing, it will fail.
is it better than a Dane Cook joke cause those don’t make me laugh and i’m not laughing now
Yeah, but we knew this was coming from the beginning since we were told all we had to do to get the seasonal req pack was place in one playlist. Place… You could be a bronze and get the same reward that was promised before the season began. Whatever happened to playing the game just for the heck of it. I remember back in Halo 3 people would rank as a general just for the glory of being a general and they didn’t expect anything out of it. I mean what exactly do you want a special skin/armor that only onyx players can have? Or a tier based rewards system? I don’t know about you, but I play Halo for the fun of it. When I jump into Arena or warzone, it’s because I want to be there, not because I’m expecting something.

Uh what? The ranking system is meant to match up people with similar skills, not hand out trophies. If you only play/perform to get a gift then you’re missing the point of playing a video game imo. Besides, all your great ranks stay on your service record so people can still see that you achieved something and get respect.
I can understand if you’re more just venting at a lack of armors/helmets/skins that can be unlocked through specific achievements, but I still don’t think arena ranks should be involved with that.
I have a better idea. Keep the seasonal packs as is, they are fine.
But, give a one off pack, when you achieve a certain rank above gold/plat. Example, diamond pack, onyx pack. These would give a special emblem only attainable through that pack, and one permanent unlock rare or above.
Sounds like you are playing ranked for the wrong reasons friend.
They followed through with their commitment, what more could you ask for?

Let us get one thing straight. You, the consumer, are compensating 343 for the ability to use their product. They don’t owe you some reward for using it. If I buy a product and never use it, that is nobodies fault but mine. The intended purpose of a video game is to play it for fun. This argument is like someone complaining to a food company that they weren’t rewarded for eating the food. You paid for the product, they provided the product. End of discussion. Companies don’t pay people to use their stuff (aside from testers and things like that).

In Halo 3 I played for rank, for bragging rights to show off to friend and foe. Now, I cant show it to foe and my friends have to click 3 different things to get an idea of my overall service record. As it sits by the forum community, this Seasonal Req pack will never change. So I, myself will change. I will not play playlist I don’t feel because there is no point. I will play one playlist to fulfill my want to become a Champion in 1 playlist. When that happens, mission accomplished, game over.

I compensated 343I when I bought there product. I continue to compensate them when I play and endorse the game through social interaction whether it be real world or virtually. I’ve never said that they owed me a reward, I said I was feeling shorted. Todays intended use for a video game is to make money. To your Food company argument, consumers are rewarded with flavor and visual appeal. If food is bland and boring, people don’t buy there food. Companies pay people to use there stuff ALL the time. My statement in short is this: Halo 5s Seasonal Rewards Packs are BLAND and BORING end of discussion.

I’m never sayed the owed me a reward, I said I was feeling shorted. Todays intended use for a video game is to make money. To your Food company argument, consumers are rewarded with flavor and visual appeal. If food is bland and boring, people don’t buy there food. Companies pay people to use there stuff ALL the time.
Guess what, food companies are out to make money. And the whole point of playing a video game is to be rewarded with figurative flavor and visual appear. I feel like you just rebutted your own OP with that comment.
