Can anyone tell me how the arena system works, and how your division placement is determined?.
It’s based on who you win and lose to. It’s the same system as 1-50 from Halo 3, the only significant difference is that your rank is determined by how your TrueSkill compares to the population rather than just showing you what your TrueSkill is.
It is based only on win/loss. It doesn’t matter if you go +20 or -15. As long as you win, you are good. Your division and placement within that division are according to the population. So if you are in the Onyx division, then you are some of the best players in the Arena in that season.
If you win a lot of games, then you will be placed in a higher division. The whole idea behind Arena is that you are ranked according to other people, not a static system. So one season you might be 80% Silver and the next you could be 90% Gold. It all depends on how the other people do.
Win/Loss and WHO you Win/Lose to plays a significant factor.
i.e. If you beat a team of 25% Onyx and you are 90% Gold you will jump up a bunch the next day most likely…
