Yeah, we lost, but I was the best player of the lobby AND I have done the most assists so far in that game.) Sorry but the JUST WIN OR LOSE! system isn’t so effective like everyone think…

> Stat padding? You think anyone in the Halo 2/3 days got good from “screwing their teammates”? Halo used to be about individuals playing together and getting matched up based on “True Skill” matchmaking. When 343 stepped in and added Win ranking, any trash player can now just sit AFK and rank up to Onyx, simply by their team winning. This system is not only idiotic but it literally has nothing to do with being good at the game in ANY sense other than just being there. Its laughable how trash the ranking system is and adding “seasons” to it further enforces that 343i has no idea what a competitive shooter is.
Would you be shocked if I said that the first ever Halo to track individual stats was Halo: Reach? Want to hear how that went? They changed it to a W/L system.
Halo 2 and 3 also had W/L systems in place.
The True Skill you’re talking about is a refined version of the ELO system, which is also a W/L system.
You’ll find me skeptical of any “trash player AFKing to Onyx”.

There cannot be that many of them (these are true unranked with < 10 CSR). They unbalance most games. (I mainly play Slayer).

We’re most likely looking at a loose skill range setting here, and a low population, for the match making. The ranking system has no saying in who plays who, it just rates players. That rating is then used by the match making system to match players up.
Also, most games using a sort of skill ranking systems based on wins, have this “hell hole”, from where it’s difficult to escape if you somehow ended up there. I believe LoL players use the term “ELO hell”. Where luck is needed, or a team, to get out. I’m probably stuck in it this season of SC2’s 4v4, played 14 matches I believe it was, and won 4 I believe.
