Arena Slayer game took 35 minutes to complete!

Lag has increased significantly. Yesterday I played an arena slayer game that took 35 minutes to complete. Impossible yh? Apparently not when the game timer keeps pausing even though everyone is still running around fighting. Respawn timers taking 30 seconds to count down. Not being able to pick anything up, grenades floating around with lit fuses, delayed in exploding. I got an overkill even though it took 12 seconds to go from kill 3 to kill 4, but made possible because the game timer only ticked on by 2 seconds between those kills. The random American guy who stayed in the game with me said the other team of 4 were cheating, but I don’t think so because they had no advantage! When I run the game in theater mode it voluntarily plays in fast forward. It’s something I’ve never seen before in any Halo game, ever, and these are dedicated servers, wow!

Over the last 24 hours it’s gone ultra bad. Some American guys tonight in different games were complaining of lag. If they mean people not dying after 3 shotgun rounds to the face at point blank range type of lag, then I agree. People have been sponging all night, it really has gone bad and it’s consistent, like everyone I’ve played with that have been on comms has complained. Beyond 48 yrs ago it appeared to be decent.

21 minutes isn’t quite 35, but the point remains I guess.

Regardless, at a point you just gotta quit out and count your losses on a bad connection. Dedicated servers don’t eliminate all bad connections (it still is a network, after all).

I take your point about individual connections. Although as said, I’ve never seen it this bad ever before, even on p2p.

I’ll quit if people don’t die and my bullets are pointless, but even if laggy I’ll stay and push on as long as my bullets do damage. In this game the bullets were counting and me and this American guy were holding our own 2v4. However, it was messy. We got beat 50 to 49 in the end, damn it!
