Is matchmaking in arena a common issue in this game as far as the skill/rank balance of the teams? I usually place around platinum initially, but matchmaking seems to consistently place me against significantly better players and give me worse teammates. For every one or 2 wins where I beat a team around the same rank, it will give me like 3 losses where I play against higher ranks. I will get a team comprised of like myself and another platinum, a gold, and an unranked player, and we’ll be up against 2 platinums and diamonds and it’s no contest we usually get skunked. After a few losses like this, the game will give me a decent matchup where I win.
This is an example. My friend and I try playing swat, and our first couple games are against platinum/diamond teams while we get golds and unranked teammates. Then since we’re not getting suitably crushed like the game wants, it throws us against 2 diamonds and 2 onyx, when none on our team have even placed a rank in the playlist yet:
I have yet to rank past platinum 3, and yet I usually see diamond enemies and have even gone up against champions on occasion. Having to get swept 3 or so matches for every 1 win or close loss is not an enjoyable experience. I rarely get the other side of the coin where my team is the higher ranked against a bunch of golds and silvers or whatever (are there even ranks lower than gold? I haven’t seen any yet).
