Ok so to me at the moment Arena does not feel rewarding AT ALL, the ranks feel pointless since they’re only there for a month and then reset (worked your -Yoink- off to get to Onyx aaaaaand its gone) and then theres the exp and req points. If i win a match i would get around 700-800 RP and around 800-1000 EXP, that is pathetic compared to Warzone where you can easly get double, heck even triple that amount.
Now the whole argument of “Warzone matches are longer then Arena, so you can get the same amount of RP/EXP in Arena matches in the same time of 1 Warzone match” does not work at all. You can jump onto Warzone Assault, have it where the defending team kept the first base, causing the match to finish after just 5 minutes (shorter then any Arena match) and still get over 1000 RP and EXP still. Arena feels useless to me at the moment, i have times where i want to jump on it, have a match, then look at the RP and EXP feel really let down and go back on to Warzone.
So to sort this out, i honestly believe Arena (and Social when thats released) need to have a major EXP and RP boost because untill then i probably only have 1 or 2 games and then back to Warzone and Warzone can only keep you happy for a certian amount of time before it becomes boring and you want to come off completely.
It’s the exact same scenario of Firefight vs mutliplayer in Halo: Reach. You could go into any PvP match up and earn a fair few points… but if you went into a Firefight? You would easily get double if not triple that number.
Same now for Warzone vs Arena.
If you want any kinda of ‘progression’ and want to unlock more armor or weapons or whatnot, you need the exp/points. And what are you gonna play? The match that gives you the most reward for your time. It’s simple logic.
So they really need to beef up the point reward system from arena otherwise I see no real point in playing that until I’ve unlocked everything from all the points earned in Warzone. Except… oh, Warzone is boring after about 3 matches because there’s only 3 -Yoinking!- maps and that gets old faster then anything else in this game.
Arena is supposed to be competitive, 95% of the people there are not playing for points or armor, they’re trying to hone their skills and improve their ranks.
Warzone takes more time to complete and you are not rewarded any kind of rank for winning, you also spend REQ cards.
Arena games are short for the most part and you are rewarded with rank, it’s also centered around competitive play.
That and Warzone takes about double sometimes even triple the amount of time to finish compared to an Arena match. It’s really all based on time, if people were only having to play 7 minutes of Arena and were getting the same amount of XP/REQ as an 18 minute game of Warzone it wouldn’t really be fair.
