Hello forum I was recently playing arena with a friend and the conversation came up why dont ranks get reset at the end of every month like they used to? This is a concept that 343 started with arena last time I checked. So why dont ranks reset anymore?
I don’t think people liked having to grind for their previous rank again every month and I think it helped with the matching system at the time.

Ey I know I sure don’t with other games, so I found this to be interesting when I tried halo 5 recently for the first time.
Ranks still get reset but its like every two months or something. Month long seasons just weren’t long enough.

I’d have to agree to disagree on that there
It hurt a lot more players than helped them.

I am sure it’s in an old community update some where but I am not digging it up. I have been placing in every season since launch.

I have as well but I have purposely not been playing it much recently untiI I know the ranks are reset.
Your CSR rank gets reset, but your MMR stays the same.

I believe they are set to reset at the beginning of December but being the holidays they might extend it, who knows.

Alright guess well see in the next month or so.
I hope they do because I not going to rank at all until then because it makes it a pain to try to complete commendations at higher ranks.

Not really an incentive to play anymore for most.

You still get season participation req packs i believe, they just don’t have any of those lame emblems any more.

My friends ask do they still give out emblems to those who missed the season the first time around as long as they qualify?
I know there are only 12 emblems in total
And I know there were no new ones made after the 12

You can no longer get those 12 emblems from placing during a season. New season last around 3 months and are the winter, spring, summer, fall seasons.
When you qualify each season you now just get a regular participation rec pack with nothing special in it.
Not ranking because you want to finish commendations with a lower rank is useless since matchmaking uses MMR instead of CSR to match players.

Well If MMR is involved then I’ll just stick to social then
And for someone like me who has all those theres no point today arena then
Kinda disappointed 343 comes up with a concept then shortly after scraps it. They should have never done it in the first place then.
Also then they should remove the emblems from the collections tab then for those who could not obtain them.
It just sucks theres no incentive to really play arena anymore at least for some.
