What happened to the ranking system in the March season? Speaking mainly about FFA, the system does not seem to be able to organize matches correctly or place players in their correct position. From personal experience I was placed in Onyx when the game was released (yes the ranking system for FFA and Swat was messed up then), I was diamond 3 for January, and an onyx again for February. This month however I was placed in platinum 6. However what is more concerning to me is the fact that whilst playing my placement matches, I played against a champion and a platinum in the same game. Surprisingly the platinum was the one who took home the win. Today a similar thing took place (as of 1:24 CT I am diamond 1) I played a match and the game was a little more difficult than I believe it should have been. I checked the other players’ rank at the end of the match, startled to see that I had played against a champion and an onyx(the champion won this time). Why am I getting these matchups when I’m only diamond and why was I placed so low to begin with? I’ve heard some players mention a new curve system that was integrated in the prior update, but why fix something that wasn’t as broken?

This allows high ranked players to get games more quickly. It also allows the rest of us to continually get destroyed by people we shouldn’t ever match against. So, if you’re a high onyx or champion rank, it’s like Christmas. If you’re like 99% of the rest of us, you’ll have a few games where you just want to turn off your xbox. I’ve nearly given up trying to rank up as every time I win, the next game I meet up with a full team of 4 who are thousands of CSR above me and my random team mates. Arena is now only competitive for people who are very very good at Halo.
It’s surprising but the champs in the playlists now aren’t pros and are usually just people who play a lot because everyone who has a team, especially the pros, has been doing customs all season in prep for the HWC. Faced #1 and #8 in Arena the other day and they were some randoms.

The champion rank should be more prestigious and I find it ironic that those who are truly good at the game aren’t even the highest rank.
