Hi there, I just have a quick question; sorry if it’s been asked before.
Recently I’ve noticed that despite only being a Gold 3 rank in Team Arena, I have consistently found myself playing against teams of players ranked Platinum, Diamond, and Onyx. Is a skill system at work here, or is the ranking system just botched?

Ranking system is hit and miss…I regularly play against higher levels than me. Setting your match search preferences to “focused” helps a bit though.

All the Smurf accounts in halo break the ranking system. You have higher levels running with a fake low rank in order to get easier games.

That’s been a problem since Halo 3. I feel like my problem is the opposite; I’m a low rank routinely being matched with much higher ranked players.

yea but a low ranked smurf on the enemy fireteam would bring in lower ranks like yourself against his higher rank friends.

Yes, this sometimes happens. I see mixtures of anywhere from Platinum to Diamond players on the opposite team in Slayer, SWAT and Team Arena matches. The only good point is that if your team beats the team with some higher ranked players, your CSR boost is greater. Also, it’s satisfying if you personally get a better KDA than a much higher ranked player on the opposite team!
Maybe someone can answer this, not to long ago I lost a SWAT match, i went down a few as usual with a loss. BUT a team member was Onyx and his rank went up? With a loss? Is this for real?

Sometimes i lose and it shows the little green arrow like im gaining CSR but i dont think i do.

It’s been happening a lot more than sometimes for me haha. I have been getting a higher KDA than quite lot of the platinum and diamond players I’ve gone up against, it definitely is satisfying.
