Arena Matchmaking and Scoring is Broken

So realizing that the end of the month was coming, I quickly hopped into Arena to get myself ranked in a playlist as seems the Halo online tradition for most. Upon picking up where I left off, at my one attempt at SWAT I sat down and for about an hour, had the absolute WORST experience ever to date in my whole time playing Halo 5 online.
Including the one attempt prior, I only won 2 out of the 10 games played.
Now, I certainly will admit, the two wins I got were purely my team carrying me, I was doing horribly, even so could quite be considered legal torture having played with someone of my skill and I can’t help but feel a overwhelming desire to message those players and apologize.
But after those games, and when time came to get a rating… I was awarded with Platinum III.
Game after game and loss after loss. At the bottom of the leader boards. And I am scored in the manner of a slightly above average skill level, despite my performance this season proving quite the opposite.
Which leads me to say that the whole Arena system and scoring is just flat broken.
Not to mention I was paired with people of my current level of skill, but the enemy team consisted of what could very well be pro- league MLG champions. And it just wasn’t one game. But every game I played was with the same people! Which is the only reason I have two wins is because I eventually was on their team.
I could rant and rant on this Arena subject, even on Halo 5 in its entirety, which is a shame because I want to say I love it. I want to like it and I want scream its praise from the damn heavens. But with all the issues, and focus on a e-Sports game (it seems, don’t quote me on that) I can’t help but feel frustrated, bored, and displeased every time I try to start the game. I do enjoy some things in Halo 5, I certainly do, and I see very big and bright potential for the next Halo and for 5 after considerable time and updates but as it stands now. It just leaves me frustrated after every session, almost like a chore now to play instead of enjoyment and fun.
I’m sorry Halo 5 :c

The ranking system is broken and somewhat based off of what you first received for your first season. I have friends that play better then my other onyx lvl friends that just made a new accnt and get gold 5 lol . Also seems like you need some people to play with so I invited you to my spartan company, were trying to start a warzone team and a lot of the guys like to play swat sooo if that seems like something you would be interested in def check us out, peace.

you probably played mainly diamond/onyx players, considering ur all time top is diamond.

I certainly am open to anyone explaining the whole system but I can’t help but feel that given my performance I would be deserving a rank lower than Bronze, and Bronze is the lowest to my knowledge. I don’t feel like I preformed at a Platinum III level.

You could not be more right. It’s insanely skewed, I get dropped to the bottom when I do extremely well. It’s almost like it’s randomly placing people. Kinda sad, considering Halo used to have the best ranking system compared to any other game out there.

I certainly hope that 343i looks into this relatively soon. I am not against the idea of being paired against better players and improving my skill level, but I do feel that a Platinum against Onyx or Champion is a bit much for me. At least it felt they were at that skill level.
