I feel that the spawns in Arena maps are terrible. This may just be due to the fact that the maps feel small, or the spawns are not well placed. Trying to play SWAT is hopeless when you spawn in and die instantly because the other players just happened to know where you were gonna spawn next, be it luck or not. I also find spawns to be a bit goofy, as if there aren’t enough placed. You spawn directly in front of another player and instantly die by headshot, or behind the players. Sometimes you spawn in and a enemy player spawns directly after you, in front or behind you. The two most common maps I have this problem on is Plaza and Eden. Most of the times I die are due to these bad spawns. Most of my encounters with other players are not as consistent and frequent as the odd spawn behaviors. It doesn’t help that the spawn rate is for the most part, instant.
SWAT is for people that can’t maintain precision in their shots
It’s a combination of most of the maps generally being on the small side, the ability to sprint, maps seemingly not having enough spawn points, and the fact that some people just have all the luck. If teams are spaced out at just the right amount of distance from each other, it’s not uncommon that cycling the map normally will have them running into people spawning who were just killed. If there’s one thing I’ve learned to try and keep an eye on in SWAT (and Slayer), it’s that if I’m on one side of the map and the rest of my team is on the other, then be ready because the enemy team has almost assuredly spawned in or around the area that you just walked out of and you’re about to be triple/quadruple teamed.

It is unacceptable to have bad K/D in just a single match because the spawns are too visible from afar and even be camped. I wouldn’t even have time to move away with thrust. Being on the maps like Plaza, the spawns are directly across from another. Even in Truth it’s the same. This is a problem when pdeath know exactly where someone is gonna spawn. I’ve had a few matches where people camp in corners and wait specifically for thise spots before they cycle to the other team side.
I enjoy using the playlist in order to perfect my precision for using snipers. But it sucks when you can’t even play without instant death from spawn.
Spawns in all game modes are pretty bad at the moment. It’s frustrating when you spawn in and get killed instantly, not even being able to move off the spawn point. It happens to me all the time. Ever since the revamped a lot of the maps a few updates ago, they messed up the spawns big time. Most of my deaths are due to unlucky spawn points. It’s ridiculous when you spawn in right next to an enemy and they kill you because you weren’t expecting that. And yes, there are some people that know where spawn points are on some maps, but the majority of randoms you play with don’t. So overall I believe 343 should fix this problem.
The spawns suck in general no matter what game type
I think SWAT is simply a fast game with quick deaths and spawn kills. There isn’t much waiting time to find an enemy spartan. It’s a specific game type, that if you don’t like it, just don’t play it…

That’s true, but it is an issue for other playlists. The difference is, at least you have a chance to fight back when faced with the same situation in, say, Slayer. Not so much in Swat.

Ok I can see that.

I play SWAT specifically for the betterment of getting better with precision weapons, which, for the most part, I already excel at. I have no problems killing people, but the point of it being that you have absolutely no chance to leave a spawn point because some of the players know them by heart, or just the flaw with the spawns themselves is a big issue for me. This is in all the Arena maps, obviously, but SWAT is in a particular tier where this can annoy players like myself. I never had this problem ever in the past, and definitely not when the game first released. Since the update introducing Firefight however, I find it being more of an issue to play without having BS spawn problems getting in the way of my K/D. It doesn’t help that players who are already ranked are getting placed into a pool of other players who aren’t done with the placement matches.
I personally say that is the biggest issue with this. Playing with better skilled players due to bad placement choices doesn’t help my ability to actually get an accurate ranking for my CSR. I usually rank with Platinum or better, and on rare occasion Onyx. This time, I couldn’t get better than Gold 4 due to most of my matches having died before I even got to move from my spawn points after respawn. I only was positive two matches, and only by one kill usually.

Hmm ok.
Mostly due to the faster pace of swat

If the Spawn timer were set to three I’d be happy even. It makes a difference. Past Halo games had a slower spawn time for Swat, and it was never so bad. Granted they also had no sprint, which doesn’t bother me either way.
DMR SWAT makes it worse…
Lets give kids a mini sniper rifle. smh
Seems to be nothing but kids camping in cornors ready to cross map spawn kill you when its DMR SWAT lol

While I think kids are capable of that, I imagine it being more overconfident competitive players responsible for most of the BS. DMR SWAT is pretty anmoying. It makes me upset when I play on Rig, Truth, Regret, or Mercy. Those maps have the worst amount of corner campers. Those maps are where my K/D drops.
Its like all I get is DMR SWAT. Almost every single time
Swat is only for those with quick reflexes and aim. The lethality of it is what makes it fun and difficult

I get it on the problem maps constantly. Always Truth, Regret, Mercy, and Plaza. Matches with nothing but spawn and instant death before I can even think of moving.
I find it funny that of all the maps people complain about, no one is complaining about the garbage spawn-lock in Gold room on Pegasus II.

That’s only if this is the only thread you’ve seen talking about spawning. Pegasus II’s spawn issues have had plenty of dedicated threads on the subject.
