Arena is perfect.

Does anyone agree?
Or do you believe there are flaws within Arena still such as the following:

  • Glitches
  • Advantages
  • Unfair Maps?

Just wondering.

First post on the forums. :]

I honestly don’t like it. I don’t play to play competitively, yet that’s what they’re[343] trying to force everyone to do. I don’t like going against all the huge try-hards, especially when my team is shooting the ground because they like the sparks that happen.

Poor ranking system. I’ve got onyx in 3 already, there’s not a real big reason for me to return, unless I have a full team. I want something that takes more days to get though the ranks.

I enjoy it, but the problem I have been having is that it has been glitching both for me and on other players during the match causing kills to be stolen or avoided because of said glitches.

Arena is poorly done. 343 only cared about trying to attract esports with Arena and by doing so have alienated many longtime fans who don’t want to play Warzone 24/7.

Couldn’t have said it better.

Spawns…

Need I say more?

I like it a lot. More difficult to play than Halo 4’s infinity slayer (Thank god) and just the right amount of intensity. Not to mention useful guns and a starting magnum that takes a bit of skill to use properly.

My main problem is the spawns, there have been multiple times where I spawn and someone has already shot me twice

My other only problem is the lack of precision weapons, when you get a BR or DMR you can literally farm the enemy team because magnum and AR are nothing compared to them, your only threat is someone with one of the power weapons or someone else with a BR/DMR. Either include them into the loadouts or put more on the map.

Right because Halo 2 and 3 alienated fans because it had a ranking system.

I like how challenging it is and how alot of the times the matches finish extremely close to a tie. However I don’t like how they keep putting me on the same map 3 times in a row.

Actually they tried making it competitive while trying to make it noob friendly. Too many access points and small maps like cod. With sprint the maps are even smaller plus short range radar calls for a bad time. They want everyone to feels “special” with the ranking system, yes even noobs. In halo 2 you use to see a rank 50 and know your in for a rough time, now you see the highest rank and think… “Wow that kid has wayyyy too much time” as he’s getting destroyed. This game is made to target a younger generation considering most of the true halo fans have grown up and they need to sell the game and keep up with cod, battlefield, destiny, titanfall… It seems like they want it to seem competitive like you see in school sports now days… “Oh you lost the game, here’s a medal for participation, and your the best don’t let anyone tell you otherwise” … Hard scoping…in halo…nuff said. Its a good game, but it’s a bad halo game.

If they introduce a social BTB and a social 4v4 team slayer (with all the variants that the competitive team slayer has), I think they’ll have the perfect balance.

I love Arena, but there are times I’d like to do a social playlist besides Warzone.

First post on the forum and so wrong… arena sucks atm

I’ve enjoyed it a lot. I’m not very good, but I’m hoping my skill will improve. I am already waiting for the new December playlists to show up though.

i am at this point 100% sure that Big team gametypes and maps for them are intentionally excluded to push warzone on early adopters, just to get more Req buys.

The ranking needs to go back to the way it was in h2/h3 only problem

Not to mention that the lobby system is down right awful.
Why do I have to back out to main menu to change a playlist?
Mics don’t even work for the fireteam until you’re in the playlist countdown!!
Not to mention it is a pain to even form a fireteam on the fly to begin with.
All this and more and a lack of quality social playlists really shows how little 343 cares about the social aspect of halo and creating a solid player-base.
The lobby system is so awful I might have to ditch a game that I’ve been looking forward to for a while now.

the arena playlist is the tournament settings. though it’s nice to see non-tournament players playing it too.

my main gripe is that breakout should not be included in the tournament settings, it’s a shallow gametype and is nowhere near as definitive at testing skill like the other gametypes, all you need is to catch players out, the maps are very 1-dimensional and there is limited strategy to the gametype.

also it would be nice to have oddball, extraction, king of the hill and assault too as there isn’t much diversity atm.

^^^ H3’s rank system was near perfect. Only problem was after a while it become near impossible to rank up. But having an XP & Skill-Based rank system is great and having one rely on the other gives people reasons to actually get better at the game and get higher ranks.

But of course, it’ll never happen because people realizing they’re not good at the game is bad. So they do a system like this where you can get promoted by not demoted…
