Hey everyone
So last night I tried the new assault playlist and was victim to what I can only describe as Arena farming. I was join in progress to a game only a few minutes in. The score was 0-0. I noticed the enemy already had like 50 kills between them, and they always seemed to have the ball yet never went anywhere near our goal. Around 1 kill and 18 deaths later (we were being mercilessly massacred) we finally managed to fight the ball off them and score a goal. Literally as soon as we did they equalised so even the score so it could go to over time then continued holding the ball and massacring us. There was literally nothing we could do, there was no outmaneuvering to do, no outshooting, these guys were on a whole other level and they knew it. We finally scored a second goal, which they immediately equalised. Then I was killed around another 20 times before I heard “overtime”. I’m sorry everyone but that’s the first match I’ve quit. I just couldn’t do anything I’ve never felt so completely useless on a game it was absolutely horrific.
I really liked assault when it was briefly in team arena, but this one experience was SO bad I don’t ever want to play it again.
This is what we called farming before warzone happened. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. You’ll just have to get on with your life.
Oh my god I’ve just checked the stats for that game and it lasted the full 15 minutes and one guy got 64 kills… definite report for unsporting behaviour there
Sorry for you bro. But you shouldn’t have quitted the game because it harms your stats and you could get a ban, while it makes nothing for the other team. The only thing is to report them

I did report them, and it’s the first game in 1600+ that I’ve quit. I wouldn’t have done it if there wasn’t join in progress, I just couldn’t take any more man
that’s bull pucky those guys should grow some ethics and/or morales instead of ruthlessly beating up fellow gamers

Sounds like farming and therefore ‘Unsporting Conduct’ to me. I hope you reported them.
If enough people do they’ll get red repped and shouldn’t be matched with decent players who play the game properly.
I’m surprised this behaviour hasn’t occured in CTF yet though.
Its a -Yoink- move but people have been doing that forever. I remember on onslaught in h3 if even one of your teammates quit you were in for 10 minutes of getting spawn killed.
Farming is bad , its a pain in the backside and shouldn’t be done. i will go so far as to leave the game if my team start farming . because when your team is farming , you feel like a jerk, and when your being farmed its twice as bad. people who do it and genuinely enjoy it are nothing but saddos who will go to any length to improve a number in their stats instead of actually working for it like the rest of us , and if you ask me, those morons dont even deserve an Xbox
Most players enjoy getting a couple extra kills here and there, but farming to that degree is obscene. Unfortunately another instance where we see it being done by a player on his Champion acct. Looking at his recent game history it’s not about having fun with some casual friends playing the objective in a Social list. It’s about going into an objective based list, ignoring the objective, and farming kills. Halo 5 Champ. Not a very positive rep for the game. More of an “Avoid Me”. Look at all the players who quit the OP’s game. Now they’re double screwed by a DNF. Studies have shown that the most effective deterrent is conspicuous punishment that is swift, certain, and severe. Think about touching a hot iron.

It does happen sometimes. But since CTF is openly ranked it is usually more closely matched. I’m not talking about delaying the last cap a bit so a team mate can grab an extra kill. Easy farming there requires circumventing the ranking system by coordinated boosting with team smurfs. I was once matched with a party of three who were all obviously much more skilled than the other five players. They effortlessly held the opposing flag, farmed kills and capped easily with a few seconds left. The guy with the flag was in a rather obvious spot, dancing around and tea bagging. I probably should have quit, but it was like driving by a crime scene, and then I have a DNF.
stuff like this happens all the time >.> But back then we called it spawn trapping or spawn killing. I used to do this back in Halo reach with a team ofc and it was fun. Same with cod esp on demolition. Its really hard to try to stop spawn traps in FPS games.
That used to happen quite often before WZ/H5 came out. It sucks, but the chances are it won’t happen when assault is put back into Team Arena.
See THIS I believe counts as farming. Sorry for your poor experience, it’s definitely worth reporting the opposing team for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Sorry to hear about your experience OP. I have never quit a game, but would have likely quit that one.
I’ve had the same experience. What I did was stay away from our goal to force them to come get the kill and leave their power position. It is frustrating when it happens but the satisfaction of denying farmers their kills is worth it.

TBH, I hate the term farming. It used to be called stat padding/statting or the other more derogatory stat W ing word which is probably filtered here.
