343- Approx. half of your 1%s this season (from HaloTracker, at least) were boosted by a single 95% iron account. How about a banhammer? Why should we invest the time in what’s becoming a broken ladder- where you run into these clowns every day?
There are only like 50 Arena players so I’d think it shouldn’t be that hard to track those games.
Thanks in advance. I’ll be in Matchmaking waiting 45 minutes for my next match if you need me.
Agreed. Maybe the best solution wouldn’t be to ‘ban’ those who’ve been using boosters because there goes half the upper population of Arena but there could be a cap on Onyx players not being allowed to be paired with anyone but other gold players at minimum. Reduce the effectiveness of boosting a little bit…

Sounds like a good idea, or make a new ranking system that can’t be boosted or abused (mission impossible), ban everyone who ever abuses it (won’t happen) or make it harder to abuse at least (possible).
No one cares for rank in Reach and still people boost in arena, that is just sad and pathetic. Proves that no matter ranking system or how useless it is, some people just can’t stop boosting, 1-50 or Reach, same boosters ruining the competitive spirit.
Agreed with Hypno’s suggestion. It would seem very rare that anyone who is onyx will willfully search with someone who is legitimately a iron-silver star.
Yesterday I played 3 games. The first game I got host booted, the second game was against boosters (we won) and the third one was as well (we lost). I went from a 15% to a 20% because of it. Quality matchmaking, right there…
Got offline because my streak was ended by a cccccheater.

I dont do arena for that reason anymore. The match Onyx players with gold or higher is pretty genius! I like that idea.
I don’t meant to be offensive… but we could not care?
The whole point of boosters is for them to feel like they’ve achieved something just because they have some kind of meaningless number that gives them attention, whether positive or negative. If the gaming community as a whole (Well, I’ve lost already) would simply grow up and realize that this number ultimately doesn’t give any -Yoinking!- damn if you can still DMR them to hell and back, then we’d have the boosters all die from lack of exposure.
Given how small the Arena community is- and how frequently I’ve run into the booster account- I’ve stopped playing. I know other booster accounts have popped up to counter “a pink wabbit.” It’s unfortunate. 6 of the 11 1%'ers this season were boosted by this single iron account.
I gave the boosters a piece of my mind in party chat- and I was told “at least we aren’t host booting” (they got tired of that last season apparently). I rather be host booted. You might as well host boot me a half dozen times to have the same negative impact on my truskill. If I play these guys once every 10 games and split wins against them, it is near impossible to improve my division rating. It’s not worth the time investment.
I have been a big supporter of the Arena ladder ranking system and feel it is a shame that the Halo community as a whole did not embrace it. However, if 343 plans on using a similar system in the future- it must be moderated. The negative effect of boosting on other players is much greater than the H3 model (where your high skill can never be taken away). I will give 343 the benefit of the doubt here- I feel they are justifiably focusing on H4 rather than policing a sparsely populated playlist- but I will be spending my time elsewhere in the future.

I’m with you dude… On top of this issue I feel like we WILL NOT see Arena changes for this coming season which is bulls***… 343 is planning on introducing a huge update to Invasion and they mentioned in advance.
I frankly find that insulting because Arena changes have been asked for as long or longer than invasion updates. 343 is wasting their time adhering to the casuals who suck at this game anyways…
I wanted to add that in addition to the twos trick and boosters. Another exploit I encounter is where you get a deranker who is in party chat with the other team. He basically searches at the same time and if he ends up on their team he plays but if he is on the other team he deranks. Garbage.

It is ironic yes. Everything they “fixed” from 1-50 is still in Arena…

lol Yeah.
Onyx sometimes doesnt mean much though. Out Dmr’d someone yesterday who was top 6% onyx. Made him rage quit after the 6th out dmr

The rating system is not a joke. But the rating system is being heavily exploited right now- and it’s not policed.
I’m going to regret getting too far off topic, but Bungie achieved most everything they set out to with the new rating system. They got rid of the selling 50’s economy. They wanted a “hardcore” playlist while everyone else could get their cRs for a COD-type progression system. I think it’s safe to presume They WANTED this. And prior to this boosting plague, the only real complaint I had was it takes too long to find games.
FWIW, If you took all the players from the other playlists and made them play arena- I’d gather that 6% onyx player you out DMR’d would probably be rated even higher.
