Are you -Yoinking!- kidding me?

343 NEEDS to fix these server disconnects. 1 or 2 server hiccups every now and again I can deal with but when it gets to the point where I get a -Yoinking!- ban for something out of my control I get pissed off. I’ve been disconnected SO Many -Yoink!- times recently it’s not funny. And I get a ban for the servers booting me out? Are you joking?

I like halo 5. I really do. But this huge server glitch is dragging the game down for me. I just want to play one full game without the server booting me out for no reason.

Have you port forwarded your Xbox and set up a static IP address for it? I used to have to same problem, but since I did all that I haven’t been DC’d once. It’ll save you a lot of headache, as well as req boosts.

Halo 5 seems to require a little more effort on the players side. Not saying it’s right, that’s just the way it is, unfortunately.

I have no idea how to do anything like that. When it comes to technology, im smarter than my parents but I’m still a bit thick

Here’s a link to a thread I made a while ago about it. I’m not the best at that kinda stuff either, but it’s pretty easy when you follow these instructions.

Thanks. I might look into it when I have time after my ban lifts

The servers are really out of whack right after my Warzone match I was still walking around while everyone around me was frozen then the screen finally came back skipping the req points k/d etc.

I am so lost at all these posts about server disconnects. I’m not discrediting your problem as it’s perfectly valid. However, I have had maybe one disconnect due to server issues. I can’t help but wonder if it’s the halo servers or something to do with the players connection. At this point I’m honestly just curious as to what the ratio is for people who have “server issues” on the regular and people who rarely get them.

I’ve done that. Everyone gets defaulted into the direction they were running during the game.

People eerily walking slowly in to a wall or into each other.

Funny stuff. Basically it’s client-side scripts/information continuing to execute while server information has been cut off.

Its not the players at this point something is off with servers.

Its most defiantly the servers and can find a lot of glitches any night. Im just happy they are not down now

edit: every time i say that the servers working when i get back to playing they are down again

Make sure you have an Open NAT (the Xbox website has a nice tutorial) and that should fix a good portion of it.

NAT and port forwarding have nothing to do with it.

Answers one thing, are you wireless or wired? go wired if you want the best internet connection. I was always lagging when wireless but ever since i decided to go wired, zero lag most times.

Also, maybe contact your service provider for help

Is weird to see so many post about server issues as I never encounter problems, yes sometimes says it can’t retrieve post game stats but nothing about continuos disconnects and lag.
Are you conected trough WiFi? Because I’m connected trough ethernet and this kind of problems are rare for me

That is the most amount of wrong I have ever seen.

It is really annoying to lose RP or XP bonuses “boosts” because of server disconnects. That said i have played over 600 games with ONLY ONE DISCONNECT WHILE PLAYING. the other disconnects happen finding players, or trying to get on warzone. I have an ethernet connection with Open NAT. The issue is with the HALO Servers.

In my experience all Halo games have been this way for me.

But yes, I did port forwarding and since then I’ve had much fewer issues.

It’s more than likely their router. They need to forward ports and something about a static IP address. Ive done it for PC games before. Its not difficult but it is a technical process. I know little about it, i just follow tutorials. That’s what i recommend.
OP, if you can, try connecting directly to your modem via ethernet. If that resolves your issue, then you need to forward some ports on your router if you want to use it to play halo

Your stealing assassinations?

I haven’t experienced any connection issues ever.
