Are you liking #HuntTheTruth so far if so, why?

One of the major reasons why I personally like what 343 is doing with HuntTheTruth, is because it is introducing the lore for those who do not read the Halo books. This helps new players stay in the loop without having to read every Halo book out there.

What are the reasons why you like or dislike #HuntTheTruth?

I have to say I wasn’t expecting to, but after listening to it I am enjoying #HuntTheTruth quite a bit. It’s a nice crash course into learning about Chief’s past.

it’s alright not grey I just wish they could get to the point 15 mins a episode to hear a guy talk back and forth is a bit dull

I’ve enjoyed it a lot. I think some people are reading way too into it (theories that Chief’s clone is still alive, etc.). I think it’s a great way to hint at ONI’s and Chief’s motives since Halo 4, without giving too much away, while at the same time giving a bit of a back story to the Chief and what has brought him to where he is in Halo 5.

I think it’s just incredibly cheesy & dumb.

I think it is really helping to paint the picture of future setting in which Master Chief’s story is stage. The audience has been so busy playing the Master Chief and vicariously becoming the iconic war hero, that everyone has pretty much looked past the harsh dark reality of this massive governmental beast which kidnapped a kid and turned him into a war machine.

That is not a pretty picture of humanity, nor a bright picture of our future. The amount of governmental surveillance depicted in the story is very Big Brother esque and sadly close to the reality of modern day USA’s NSA.

I like it because it shows us more about the cover ups. We all knew that ONI covered up the SPARTAN Programs, but not to what extent. So I really like seeing what they have been telling the public for the past decade.

They are probably thousands upon thousands of times worse then the NSA though. :stuck_out_tongue: Especially with ONI.

#HUNTtheTRUTH Daily Updates <ONI.SEC3> SITREP

What do you think?

I’m loving it, personally; However, I am a bit behind on my updates, which I’ve been trying to remedy all day.

I’m enjoying following Giraud as he tries to put the pieces of what really happened in John’s past despite ONI trying to spin the “hero from the ashes” story. It’s been interesting getting teases about what’s happening in the Outer Colonies, the military’s feelings towards the Chief, and seeing 343i bringing all aspects of previous marketing campaigns into the lore

Who IS doing the HuntTheTruth campaign? Is it 343I or did they outsource the marketing campaign?

I found the episodes were getting a bit repetitive, but the last one started pushing the plot forward so I’m intrigued again.

not too fond of it… but hey at least it’s not another comic

No idea actually. All the past ARGs/Viral Campaigns (Because it’s not a true ARG), are usually run by outsourced companies, with an overview team from the developers. It might be in-house, or it might not. We likely won’t know until it’s over.

I am intrigued. It’s not the most interesting thing I have ever heard but it sure beats Nightfall.

I like getting a citizens perspective of the halo universe and I also like that the UNSC and ONI are not so peachy as we may have assumed. They in fact are very Orwellian and not the type of society most would want to live in.
also it is good they are telling chiefs back story, after all in the original trilogy of games the only place it is mentioned is the cowering grunt at the very very end of halo three.

How can you not like it? I see it more of an interesting story then something for halo 5 and Its voice acted beautifully.

I am enjoying it. The only thing that irked me a bit was the stuff surrounding John’s clone coverup. For those of us who have read the Fall of Reach, we can easily see though oni’s coverup.
That said, the hints at “anomalies in deep space” not once, but twice! Has me really exited as to what they could be.
