I feel like this is a common theme with 343i. Less maps, less game modes, less playlists, unique weapons. The only thing we keep getting more and more of is less of everything.

I think people’s standards are so low because they have only been around since Halo Reach or Halo 4.
You guys are missing something here.
Remember Halo: Master Chief Collection? And the state it was shipped in? It had all those playlists, all those maps, and it was buggy as all hell.
In all fairness, I think 343 is taking a mature and measured approach to the release of content. If they release glitched content, you’d all complain about that instead. Give them time; you want quality over quantity.

MCC was a number of games slammed together into one Frankenstein monster, it’s not really comparable to H5. By the time content that should have been in the game at release gets added the community is going to be gone.
So far I have been happy with the play list. Sure there is room for improvement but that is why they are adding more and maybe tweeking some they already have.

You’re talking about things that have been in Halo since 2001. They ought to know how to do it right by now, and if the OG Xbox could handle it, the Xbox one for sure can.
Personally, I’m getting really sick of how every time 343i releases a Halo game, the question has gone from “I wonder what new and exciting features they’re going to give us,” to “I wonder what features are going to be forgotten about this time?”
Didn’t 343i claim to be a collection of ex-Bungie employees and long time fans of the franchise? To me, it seems like no one there has even played the games at all seeing as they keep changing and removing huge parts of what made the game fun and popular to begin with.
I don’t like the game modes as you can’t enjoy them due to the leavers! It’s rare to play a match with full teams and I have no faith this will looked at by 343.
The game is missing to many game modes at lauch. Warzone, while decently fun, needs more maps and more play modes than just Warzone and Warzone Assault. How long did they expect people to play those only two modes on only 3 maps before it became a problem? I know, more maps are “Coming Soon”.
It’s also funny that Warzone is the only mode where you can use a vehicle. Why is that?
And why did they not add match making AND a scoring system to campaign seeing as they removed split screen. I’ve read the official “reason” from Frank O’Conner and to be honest, it was laughable seeing the outcome of the final game.
What happened to Offline Lan Support? For a game that they are pushing so hard for eSports. When the HCS had connection issues is was embarrassing to watch.
And for the people who are saying, “Halo 5 didn’t release with more game modes because of how The MCC turned out”, how is that even relevant? That is 5 games (when you count Halo 2 and Halo 2 multiplayer) done by various teams. Halo 5 is ONE game which, we all know had/has a huge budget, and a team of some very talented and veteran game designers. They should be able to launch a AAA game with more content and not worry about its launch being as dismal as The MCC.
Also, WHY are the maps not in better rotation? They have all these maps, just like in The MCC, and they still do not properly rotate them. The issue of a broken community is gone because we all have all of the maps, so I don’t understand the issue.
And What The F did they do to the lobby screen? Especially for Warzone. You now have to wait for the match to begin before you can mute anyone. And you have no ideal who’s on what team. Also the end game carnage report. What happened to it? And it would have been great if they brought back Party Up. I see it as a good thing that would only benefit the community.
It all just seems weird for a company that said they wanted to “earn our trust” and make up for the horrible MCC launch to give us so much less.
343i are focusing on a core group of playlists which will be expanded over time, mainly to gauge public opinion and prevent any problems like the MCC from happening again. I’m not someone who wants social playlists (I enjoy ranks, when they work at least), but I do agree the playlists need shaking up a little. Why there isn’t an objective playlist with KOTH, oddball and flag is beyond me. Strongholds is alright but it gets incredibly boring after the 100th game, in my opinion.
But to say Halo 5 is “missing content” etc. is total BS, every game gets built from the ground up so all gametypes have to be done manually, not copy and pasted from previous titles.

So that’s why Halo 1 2 3 and Reach had more then 2 objective gametypes?
