I’m fine with it being free to play.
But this is not a good live service.

But this is not a good live service.
I wouldn’t even class this as a live service game. Reach had weekly challenges no different to the tenrai and cyber show and that’s a 12 year old prequal.
Also the only thing they’ve being tooting about is forge and coop which is just the game.
Plus it was £60 no different to the other games.
So basically they’ve just sold us a battle pass which is far inferior to all the other progression systems.
All the patches are to fix the broken game they brought out … nothing new….
So are all games live service considering the games are never complete on release?
And the only thing which was free to play was the beta! Which is no different to the real game.
Apologies for my sporadic post but I’m just mimicking the game!
Live service - I’m still scratching my head to try and figure out what the difference is!
Halo 3 was a live service game as it got regular matchmaking playlist updates.
But multi is free so it’s like a double edged sword except one edge of the sword (f2p) is way duller and smaller than the massive razor edged blade on the opposite side that is the monetization and amount of content we’ve had since release.
It’s so incredibly clear that the live service aspect does not serve the game or the community, only the investors.
Drip feeding mediocre content seems to be the standard for live service, and this game is no better. Halo has always been incredibly cinematic, and particularly the bungie games all felt very… complete to me. They had a beginning and an end and they were an emotional journey for the player. Drawing things out forever takes away from that and I don’t think it will ever work for this series.
There can be no stakes and no satisfying story/conclusion when we know we’ll be getting cliff hangers for another 8 years at least. no way this game will last that long, instead it will fizzle out and the content will continue to be mediocre, and then it will die. Hopefully in another decade someone else revives Halo and does it right.
I can safely say - I would assume - every halo fan - paid for ‘Game pass’ or the outright ‘campaign’.
Which would have made it free to play for all those new to halo - who probably stopped playing after a day or two like my nephew.
No, I mean I don’t really know what that means to be honest. The game in it’s current state is no different to how Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo 5 and Halo Reach launched so calling it a ‘service’ is just marketing rubbish. They could have just redesigned a previous game like Halo Reach and it would have sold just as well, if not better than the current Halo Infinite.
Maybe if they could actually service their live service game but alas, they are understaffed, overmanaged, and woefully unprepared to manage a GaaS
What’s to be happy about? 343 can’t even produce content, yet they expect the players to pay full price.
That’s asinine…
Test…I love Halo Infinite.
No, I am not happy with 343’s service so far and how stricted the moderators are about people not being happy with 343’s product launch.
This game has been in the making for six years and it was poorly released and the community is slowly falling apparent because 343 is failing to bring their service.
I understand it is their first free to play game with live service but this horrible.
•There is no pre-game lobby.
•There is no way of reporting cheaters like there is in destiny.
•Can’t move the camera around while waiting to respawn to give teammates information, just stuck looking at the guy who killed me.
•They seem more worried about the store and events then addressing the comments we make about the core gameplay.
There is more.
•No collision is bad because I walk right though the enemy spartan.
•no tracking or dashing when meleeing makes the no collision worst. Also literally shoot my teammate with a rocket because he walk right though me killing him and myself in rank trying to kill the enemies for a double kill.
•keep having the fireteam disbanded after every BTB match.
•plasma pistol is useless now and feels wonky as hell. The plasm repeater is a better noob combo weapon then the plasma pistol.
•It takes to long to swap weapon in a gun fight resulting in death.
• After picking up the rocket launcher from the weapon pad the animation for it takes to long resulting in death because I can not shoot it until the animation is done.
I already was displeased in nearly every way with Infinite being a Live Service in its current condition content-wise. Now we find out the day before the original Tactical Ops date that it has been pushed back further.
For a “Live Service” game, they sure are struggling to give more than the bare minimum LIVE content updates. No wonder we don’t have a roadmap. Even a small cosmetic event with a minor update to Tactical Slayer is not being held to a strict date.
The store is back to 20 dollar armor and 10 dollar colors.
This Game has made me lose all hope. Too long to update basic things, too long to make the game work. Looks like it’s a current failure in my eyes. Halo infinite flopped, it COULD EVENTUALLY get good but it should have launched good and complete
If they wasn’t told us Halo Infinite is a"service game" ,it will be discard at once.
No, but I am interesting in the fact that this game (if it actually survives) will have quite a lot more content than a paid box model which didn’t get a lot of content after launch
If by more content, you mean a bunch of silly cosmetics, sure.
Do you just follow me around the forums to troll? Kind of weird dude…
Yes, obviously my entire daily schedule is based around “following” you in the forums, you sure called it.
Well, you have replied to a lot of my posts in just the past few days
… and you’ve made a lot of posts in the past few days.
Do you regularly worry that people are following you?
