there is nothing fun about a mode where victories and completing challenges is purely RNG.

What is the strategy here. Camp on a high point in the map?
Simply don’t get shot by 3 people at the same time?
This mode makes me want to head butt a belt sander.
This is pretty normal for free for all though… There’s not really a way to actually “fix” this that I’ve ever seen. Unless you force everyone to 1 vs 1 and rotate players in and out so that no more then 2 people can engage at a time.
Highly doubt that’ll play out well if they took that route.
Yeah, it’s just the TTK is different than a COD or a BF.
Weapons can’t just headshot someone instantly. It ALWAYS takes time.
I’m just mad that they really made a mode like this instead of one that would, oh idk, be a big team battle event.
Haven’t seen any of those yet.
Because they want different modes that cater to different interests. Not everyone going to like playing the game modes you specifically like.
Every events been different type games modes outside of the multiple FFA Samurai events.
Over time they’ll probably do a BTB specific event too.
I was definitely really bummed out. It is hard enough, especially when you’re older, and you and your buddies don’t often have an opportunity to play together. Now I get on and discover that we’re not allowed to play these new modes together, after waiting for 6 months for something new.
I hear the arguments of “Just play a Custom Game” or You’ll break the game." To me those arguments are invalid.
First off Custom Games is still broken, and doesn’t even work properly. Further, playing Custom Games doesn’t grant you progress to challenges which is the only dang method of unlocking anything in this game.
Second, there’s not anything to break, if a bunch of buddies were to play a free for all game in matchmaking. In socially-targeted game modes like this, there’s no rank system to take advantage of. Further, there’s no special armor or other unlocks to be unlocked by achieving feats in the game, so what is there to lose?
It honestly sucks the only foreseeable way to progress for the next 6 months during this season is locked to activities we can only do alone. Aside from the social limitations this game already has, this just makes it worse.
You can blame the community for the removal of partying up for Free For All matches. I’ve seen it happen many times where people will jump party up, start a match, then team up and create an unfair advantage for themselves as they work together to kill the other players. Usually using third party programs to communicate between one another and keeping themselves from killing each other.
This becomes even more common in games where there are challenges and stuff to complete. As they’ll team up to complete said challenges to make them much much easier.
You’re going to have to deal with it unfortunately. It’s a simple case of a small group of people ruining it for everyone type situation.
Bungie/343i used to allow partying up in previous titles, but it became so much of a problem they had to cut it out, only allowing it to be done in team oriented game modes.
You’re going to have to wait till customs if you want to party up with friends in FFA game modes.
where is this majority crowd clamoring for zany FFA modes?
squads ruin FFA, but i agree there should be some kind of team based something during this season, even though it is named “Lone Wolves”.
That moment Destiny 2 pumps out newer seasons and content faster than Halo Infinite. I want to be excited for Infinite, but man I might as well just beat a dead horse at this point.

I feel like if they had a parties-only FFA LSS mode it would fill up so fast. My friends and I have been doing vc while we each do our FFA challenge stuff and it’s fun but also distracting as hell since we’re not in the same map. I’d probably only queue with a party if that was a choice.
I wonder if Forge will allow for something like parties only LSS or private LSS.
Could be a way of making it easy for people with more than 3 other friends that play Halo to play together in a fun setting.
