Who here is downgrading from LCE to CE or standard due to 343 including a DL code as opposed to a physical disk in the LCE?
Im extremely curious.
So as to get actual numbers instead of just percentages, please post if YOU ARE DOWNGRADING.

I had to write all of those down for future use just now.
You should all know that Frank O’ Connor has confirmed that the LCE ships a week early so fans can pre-download the game. If the disc is THAT important to you, okay. But you will be able to play at midnight IF NOT SOONER come launch day.
Just went through the other thread, and 16 people explicitly stated that they are downgrading from the LCE to LE/SE. Several others said that they were considering the LCE, but decided to get the LE because of this. And even more said they will still get the LCE, but will immediately sell the digital download or are disappointed by 343.
This means 343 lost $2,600. Printing 1000 copies of the disc would have cost $1000 at most. 343 is already in the red on this decision.

No I cant, im out of the country for 3.5 months or so starting late August.
So early access means nothing to me sadly, and as many others have stated: physical discs mean more to collectors

The disc is that important to me.
Hashtags don’t do anything on this forum.
I’ll be getting the digital deluxe edition. It’s essentially the same as the Limited edition without the physical stuff. Not because the LCE doesn’t have discs, but because I don’t want the statue.

Im not getting LCE but if i was i dont mind digital i wont have to worry about a damaged disc or losing it.
I’m keeping it. This new console is going to be no disc Halo for me.

By what logic as they in the red?
343i doesn’t need you to buy the LCE to stay in busines.
I’m a die hard fan even was at the launch night for halo 2 and I sadly say I’m not downgraded I will actually buy the game. The “LE” with the actual game! Telling all my friend to go LE maybe even SE #CollectorsWantPhysical make that 18 now

scratched disc, switching disc, installing

waiting days/weeks after 10/27 to play, not being able to redeem code, and not being able to play years from now?

Having to buy another game due to your disc being scratched and ruined or just downloading the game overnight?

343/Microsoft spent millions making Halo 5. Now they have to make up the money. So they count the profits the pre-orders will bring. If we downgrade our pre-orders, we are effectively taking away money 343 was hoping/planning to have. So, in the long run, the are making less money. And since they most likely chose to make it digital to keep costs down, they are now faced with a hard decision. They can spend the money on making the discs and make that plus more off of pre-orders, or they can "lose"more money than they would have spent on making the discs.
So yes, 343 will make all of the money they need, but they will not make as much money as they could have. Which will hurt their financial reports and overall success of the game/franchise. Their higher-ups will not be happy when they fin out 343 could have made more by just printing more discs (for cheap).
I want a disk, but it’s not vital enough for me to give up my LCE. I’ll pick up a disk when it’s around $30
