is anyone else better at halo 4 than previous halos? I had a 1.3 in halo 3 and a 1.2 in reach, but after a few days of halo 4 im noticing my kd is unusually high, little over 1.8… anyone else been riding the same wave as me? im not complaining by any means just wondering if im the only one
so far yes. i am better at halo 4 than i was at any of the previous games.
I got progressively better, but once I got Reach, I was horrid at Halo 3. Going into 4, I figured I would suck, but its quite the opposite, I’ve actually done very well. I’ve found that 4 feels somewhat similar to Reach almost, then again I don’t touch the BR at all(DMR is superior).
Yes, I’m better at Halo 4 than the other Halo but this is because strategy. Halo 4 let you play your way where the other games you had to stick to a certaint tactic. It feels more like halo 3 though than reach as most people say. I came into Halo 4 expecting to use the carbine as my main but I have barely used it because I fell in love with the BR all over again. It’s great at all ranges(I find it to be better than the DMR so far)
You’re not better, its just easier to kill… Plus so many bad kids are playing right now, and once ranks get implemented it will be better to know your skill level
Not quite yet. I’m still mixing up my sprint with my armor ability buttons…
new game so true skill isn’t going to be working properly untill it gathers enough data on players to match them evenly, during this time if your half decent you will be having an easy time because of all the bad players you’re going to be matched against.
come back in a few weeks and then see if you’re able to maintain that k/d
i think im much better too. im a big battlefield player and my skills are really sharp now.
also the maps help me too. in previous halo games they were generally less open and the br was always op.

Don’t. You. Dare. Try. To. Steal. My. THUNDER!
I’ve never been this good at Sniping! Ever!
And now, I’m actually enjoying the DMR. I hated it in Reach because it broke maps. But I liked Reach.
Everyone is better in Halo 4 because aiming takes significantly less skill than it ever has.
I have over a 2.0 KDR in this one but I also playing Reach a hell of a lot so that could have something to do with it since many people hated Reach and didn’t play it too much.
I really don’t mean to offend anyone but if your significantly better at this game compared to previous halos, it probably means this game makes it a little easier for everyone. In other words, it has succeeded in further closing the skill gap. I’ve been playing since H1 launch day and can honestly say I am powerless in this halo. I was great at H1, H2, didn’t really play H3 much but got to a 48 in slayer by just casual play on weekends, and maintained a 2.5 all the way through Reach. This game, I’m looking at a 1.4 kd. Soooo either I’m getting way worse or this game is catering to the average players.
looking at my past halo experiences a bit closer, my KD throughout all of the halos has actually been fairly consistent even here. between 1.3 and 1.5. i was doing about 1.4 earlier today but i afkd for a while to help my wife and got killed a bunch. anyway, i may not actually be playing better here, or i might and the game might be easier. the numbers suggest im about the same. but it certainly feels like im playing better.
Probably better than Halo 3, but not better than I was in Reach. It will take me a while before I start seeing noticeable improvement.
Everyone just needs to adjust it took me a few games to get used to the MP but once i did i have found myself dominating most people in 1v1 and even in 2v1 i can still hold my own can finally get my double kills again etc i wasn’t bad at Reach either or any other halo really and have always improved the more i play but yeah reach was horrible if you ever came into a 2v1 situation just because strafing didn’t really work and the fact the DMR was horrible back then also.

This.
Halo 3 was my first Halo and I just played for fun, not concerning myself with K/D, but just focusing on a win. I am not “pro” by any means, but I considered myself slightly above average in Reach. Now I have to retrain myself as I’m not used to the faster pace of H4.
Yes, but I think that’s because we’re all new and a lot of people are getting used to the game.
My ratio started off around 2.5 in Halo 4 but it’s gradually declining. I expect it will freeze around the 1.50 mark eventually as it did in Reach.
My k/d was low in H3, just over 1 in ranked and maybe 1.1 in social. I think this was a mixture of it being the first ever halo I played, first online game I ever played and the ranking system actually matching you up with equally skilled players (the second part of that shouldn’t be under estimated).
In Reach my k/d is a little over 1.5. I put this down to being more experienced and a better player, but primarily not being matched with equally skilled players. plus I enjoyed BTB a lot more on Reach and that’s a kill fest.
In Halo 4 I’m currently running around 2 I believe. This is being matched up with lesser skilled players. It’s too early to tell if you’re much better due to the high volume of noobs and the unknown skill matching that may or may not kick in at some point. I’m expecting my k/d to drop significantly when/if true skill kicks in.
