Are weapons like Linda's sniper better in any way?

I’ve watched the REQ video a couple times but I’m still a little unclear about weapons like Linda’s sniper. I know that it’s a Legendary weapon but to me it just looks like a sniper with a paint job. Is the weapon better than the original sniper or is it just purely cosmetic? Same question for the other Legendary weapons.

I’m sure it’s all hush hush until closer to launch. That being said, they all most likely have unique attributes. Like Prophet’s Bane for example. In the beta it had a further lunge than a normal energy sword, and allowed you to move faster when carrying it in hand.

Legendary weapons are buffed when compared to the standard weapons…

The Prophet’s bane has increased lunge and faster move speed compared to the Energy Sword…

The Halo CE pistol allegedly has the 2x scope and massive damage that it had in the original game.

We don’t know the specifics of any other legendary weapons yet…

They are better then regular weapons.

I wonder what they’ll do with the classic BR that was shown in one of the sprint videos. Perhaps better range and 3x zoom rather than x2?

Where did you hear they were actually doing the CE pistol?

I believe they had mentioned it on one of the sprint videos iirc. The one where they showed how they wanted to have all the different tiers of weapons to have differentiating visuals. Although I don’t believe there’s been any actual footage of it in action, just talk of it.

There’s campaign footage that shows that Kelly’s shotgun dissolves enemies into forerunner data like the scattershot.

As everyone else has been saying, the legendary weapons will have different attributes that make them better than their original counterparts. For the sniper I’d assume they could implement things like greater range, more ammo, no need to reload, one shot kill (like the binary rifle) etc. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Would’ve been funny if Keyes Magnum was a legendary weapon, and its special trait was that there’s no ammo for it.

Alright, you guys better be grateful, because it took me like an hour of searching through various sources just to find this video.

4:50 and beyond is where they start talking about the plans for the legendary weapons, and this is where the CE Magnum is brought up. No specific details are stated about it and it’s not concrete either.

It’s going to have some special functionality in Warzone. If it were up to me, I’d do something cool like removing descope on that weapon (but still no flinch). It would be fair since it is just a one time use weapon.

But you find Ammo randomly on the ground

That wasn’t Kelly’s shotgun, it was just a Tier 2 shotgun.

Is that confirmed though, they said loadout weapons are going to be permanent weapons, so what if there is a legendary loadout weapon, will that card then always be able to be used and that player will always have an advantage?

One thing I will note, is that I suspect that even with the legendary weapons being more powerful, I suspect they will also have some kind of disadvantage for balance purposes. For example, during the beta, when using the Prophets Bane, sure I moved a lot faster and lunged farther (It was only slightly noticeable so theres that) but the sword also was bigger and made my screen much brighter. I couldn’t see very well and would killed by people that I simply didn’t notice due to the brightness. When I used the regular sword, no such effect was present.

There won’t be legendary load out weapons… There are loadout weapons and there are legendary weapons… They are two different classes of weapons.

Loadout weapons are going to be Magnums, ARs, BRs, DMRs, and SMGs. Not Snipers.

It had a Forerunner attachment.

Super SPNKr locks on and fires babies.

Then after a few seconds, you magically get ammo xD
