If Infinite releases in 2020, which more than likely it will. It will be the longest we’ve ever had to wait for another Halo in the main series. Halo wars 2 is nice, but I see it as just something to play in the meantime while waiting for the next first-person Halo. I’m prepared to wait if it’s going to be one of the best halo’s yet, but it’s hard to wait so long. I don’t want to play halo 5 for five years straight and mcc is great, but I’ve already played these games before. These are going to be the hardest years yet to be a Halo fan.
There was over 5 years between Halo 3 and Halo 4, we got ODST between them, but that was not a main series game, same with Reach, it was a prequel imo. You could argue Reach was a main entry, either way, we have no control over the release of Infinite. There are a lot of great games for me to play, both old and new. I’ll admit, I would prefer a 2019 release for Halo Infinite, but I can’t see it dropping before 2020 at the earliest.

We had ODST, Halo wars, and Reach in those four years between 3 and 4. Those where amazing and held peoples attention long enough for them not to become stale. We also had 2 first person games in those 4 years. Right now we have halo 5 as the latest first person shooter in the franchise, and it just turned 3 years old.

We did, but not everyone likes Halo Wars, or ODST for that matter, ODST only held my attention to completion. I bought the first Halo Wars but never finished it, I never bought Halo Wars 2, I don’t like RTS. I think people only care about the games they enjoy, or the ones that interest them. In fact, I would like even more variety, a Halo 3rd person RPG would be my game of choice. Others may agree, or not. As stated, I have a lot of games to play between now and Halo Infinite launching.

Maybe the rumors are true about it being split into two half’s. Single player next year, multiplayer the year after. Who knows… It is what it is. If Halo 6 isn’t coming out for a few more years, my guess is MS has something to tie us over with. Mini game like Spartan assault, some crazy new features or addition for MCC, multiple Halo 6 MP betas, stuff like this.
Honestly, yes I am but I hope they start pushing news of some sort. I’d be incredibly excited to get vidocs scattered over the next year leading up to the release.
Edit: plus I want them to take the time they need to absolutely nail this game. I want this entry to do for Halo what God of war just did for its franchise.
Yeah the wait sucks but if it means a better Halo than past 343i entries I’m 100% willing to wait as long as it takes. I’m burned out on H5 and play MCC once in a blue moon but for now BO4 blackout will tide me over along with many single player games that I’m catching up on.
The main reason the wait sucks this time is that H5 is so diappointing. Not going into details on this we know why. An ODST game with a different crew, or somthing would be nice to hold the fans over. I would have Dare and a newly recruited team on a planet after a guardian rose and end as it comes back like the end of H5. To see what the colonies are going through. I can’t play H5 much more as it is. I’ll just read the books, which are getting better than when 343i first took over but it would be great to get Eric Nylund back to write some more. Troy Denning is doing great but the rest is pretty meh. Two more years would be insufferable. Especially if 343i is going radio silent as they have been about Infinite.
Im slowly loosing interest in the Halo franchise. Reach, 4 & 5 were pretty draining & uneventful. Now we have to wait 5 years, that may be the nail in the coffin. Unless we can get a beta soon, but thats doubtful too.
That 2019 Campaign release and 2020 Multiplayer release rumor keeps getting tossed about, but I would take it with a tiny grain of salt because I find it unlikely that’ll happen.
I’m sure 343 has some big reveal for E3 . Maybe a beta announcement too. Hopefully a little ingame footage too. If 343 is still silent after E3 I’m going to rip my hair out

Sounds like something you should take with bit more than a grain of salt. That just sounds like a marketing nightmare with no upsides over just releasing the whole game in 2020. Whoever’s coming up with these rumors needs to try harder.
I hope it will be worth the wait. This game needs to knock it out of the park because H5 was just a middle of the road Halo game and we know their track record with the other games. I can’t imagine how disappointing it will be if this game is just mediocre at best.

I’m fairly certain that someone at 343 already proved this Campaign/Multiplayer split theory to be fake and that both will launch day 1.

I often wonder where they get their sources for them to start a rumor like that to begin with. Unless they just pull it out of thin air for them to seem credible.

I hope they give us a couple really good updates on mcc, that will definitely help

But for the people who mainly play halo it’s not easy. Especaily since this is my favorite franchise and I’m not a fan of many other games, these games are my go to. And playing the same couple games for a few years gets really boring.

They are using a new engine, and that means they are starting from scratch. That’s why I think it will out in 2020. As much as I’d like to play it next year, I also don’t want them rushing the game either.

They had a bumpy start, but that’s to be expected when a huge company sells a frashise to someone else, and a new odst game could be nice.
