I’ve been meaning to make this thread, but I always forgot. Anyway, whether people liked the feature or not, 343i added this killcams feature (or deathcams, which is what 343i calls them, I believe).
They never worked though. Not before the game came out, and not today.
And while I myself don’t care much for them, why would 343i just give up on it so quickly? It’s in very few playlists as it is (actually, is it only in Infinity Slayer? Not sure), and they haven’t even tried to fix it!
But what do you guys think? Do you think 343i should just fix them already or just forget about it like we’ve been doing before?

Forget about it, add a 3 seconds re-spawn time and a text joke or tip to keep people occupied while they are waiting.
Killcams are at the very, very bottom of things that need to be fixed. Just switch to the death cam instead or you can use the broken kill cam to get a general idea of where you were killed from.
I actually did forget about them, when I played Halo 4 I never used to play game-types with kill-cams in it and on the rare occasions that I did I always skipped them anyway.
They should be removed, the only game-type that they might work in is Snipers and Swat since it is slightly more difficult to see where you have been killed from. Personally, I don’t see why it is even in the game, like many things in Halo 4.
At least for War Games, you do have theatre mode for playback. Oddly enough, they never bothered with Campaign or Spartan Ops for theatre mode (who knows why - but I dearly miss that form Reach).
I do realize that it’s not ideal because then you have to play through the movie footage through before you get to the stuff (i.e. your Kills / Deaths) you can see. But it’s better than nothing and is more accurate too (the kill cams are wildly inaccurate in MP gaming).
It’s too bad that 343 isn’t terribly inventive on this aspect. All it would take is to have a “Quick Find” menu / listing GUI feature, where you can specify pre set events to jump to in the movie. For example, “My Death” or “My Kills” as a starting suggestion and it jumps you to each one in the movie and then you can slew back or forward from that point.
And the lack of ability to render the movie footage for friends just doesn’t help promote the game either.
Past Halo games never had kill cams. There is no need to have a kill cam in a Halo game. We should be able to look around our dead body and call out to teammates where the opponents are.
It’s a broken system that should be removed from Halo. I don’t want to see my death from another person’s point of view. They don’t even have to aim…
I hate “deathcams” and never watch them, but I actually didn’t mind the final killcam–in fact, I loved it. It would be great if they could slip it back in one of the future Title Updates… or at least fix it for Halo 5. Oh well, there’s too many problems on their hands right now.
People on my friends list, who played halo 4 when it first came out quit because they thought people were cheating based on the kill cams they saw.
Now I doubt that a bad kill cam is enough to actually make someone quit, but I’m sure it helps when you think you are getting cheated every other death.
I would get rid of them. They never worked and they just ruin the Halo feel. I also don’t understand why there is a Respawn Now button but you still wait 5 seconds?
