As of today, the Overtime Update has arrived to Halo 5 which brings in Oddball and a redesigned weapon sandbox. As I wait for a whole year for a new content update for this game, I was expecting this update to come out with new REQs like the Third Grenade Launcher Variant or weapons/vehicles from Halo Wars 2. When I checked the update notes, I didn’t see any new REQs released in this update. Are going to get a REQ Drop update like the Hog Wild REQ Drop back in 2016 after this update or the game has enough REQs and adding more to the REQ Pool would be too much for the game?
I highly doubt the game will be getting more req’s or any more major updates for that matter. I guess things like the third grenade launcher got scrapped which is unfortunate because the concept was really exciting.

Same with me, we’ve all waited one year for a content update with new REQs and Forge pieces and we ended up with a 4K upgrade, Oddball, and some AR and Magnum skins of multiple nations.
We will be getting more skins but i dont think armor or weapons.
If H6 doesn’t come out until 2019, we still have two years to possibly get more REQ’s.
We can only hope that Halo 6 can deliver on what we want.
I don’t get why people get upset at not getting what they were “expecting”. They were pretty clear what exactly was coming in this update. While it would be nice to get some additional weapons for H5 I don’t see it happening any time soon. In fact I vaguely remember seeing some where that there wouldn’t be any additional content outside of playlist and weapons tuning for H5.

Yes, but there is a decent amount of stuff that people have found in the PC version of the game buried in code like the 3rd Grenade Launcher, and Sentinel Beam variants. I do expect those to come eventually still. I don’t see Halo 6 coming in 2018, so we have 2 years still, and HCS is still going strong. I wouldn’t be surprised with one more update. I honestly thought that this was going to be the last one, but the lack of those weapon variants, to me, means that there is at least one left. Quinn said that they are going to monitor the game and put out some more weapon balancing things still. Maybe with that?

Pretty sure they’re gonna be finished with Halo 5 once and for all after this update. Bring on Halo 6

Agree with this. I believe 343I have said many times it’s “highly unlikely” new REQs will be coming. Other then weapon skins, and even that, I can’t see much coming. The fact we even got this is pretty good.
Besides, I’d rather 343I use there time and resources for Halo 6 now.

I doubt he would respond because, being the Community Manager and all, he gets hundreds of messages per day.

I would bet a significant amount of money H6 gets announced at E3 2018, and launches in October 2018.
Bonus bet would be an “out now” H6 beta at either E3 2018 or Gamescom 2018 as well.
Part of me wants to start saving right now for an inevitable H6 XB1X bundle next holiday season
