I know the game is technically still in beta, and we have 10 years to go, but since Infinite is built on top of Halo 5, are we at least getting armor body sets like Halo 5, or is this it? What we have now is just Reach 2.0, with the only thing to look forward to being sold attachments for a decade. I’m not necessarily expecting the full blown Halo 3 MCC level of customization, but if this is the last Halo game ever, using the latest technology, and decades of game development experience, I sort of expect the best customization and best Forge in Halo history.
If this is it, I’m pretty disappointed. I know that you know you can get away with selling more than just attachments. If you do make armor body sets, just don’t REQ pack us again.
That being said, maybe the Mark VI core will be based on Halo 3 and 4 customization, while Yoroi, Mark V, and VII are based on Reach, which would completely explain and justify why armor parts aren’t intended to be interchangeable (if you ignore bots doing it). If the Mark VI core doesn’t have a hybrid 3 and 4 customization system, 343 is slacking hard, and I’ll be honestly done defending their decisions entirely. The customization should be at Halo’s peak for the final game.
True, but according to interviews at E3s, this is likely the last generation of consoles (besides maybe Nintendo), so in the future, if Microsoft forces another milked out Halo title for profit, it will be PC only.

Honestly, most likely gonna be in the shop. I know there’s Reach stuff in the shop right now for the daily. Anything a bot is wearing is 99% likely to be a shop item coming in a future daily or weekly

Who’d pay more than $1.00 for an armor coating? When we used to just get them out of the box.
Would have been more reasonable if we got the basic colors on the basic armor material and the ability to arrange our own coatings and then unlock or buy special patterns and colors (materials) to use. THAT would have been good. Would’ve felt good. Probably would’ve bought at least $10 worth of materials and colors already if they let us do that.
But naawwwhhhhh big daddy Microsoft said “Lock 99% of the armor coatings behind paywalls.” So f**k 'em. I aint buying.
I feel you, but I’m far too deep in the gacha hole to care anymore. If I want to have something, and I can afford to blow the cash, I’ll eat cheap store brand groceries that week, and just buy it, instead of being annoyed seeing other people have it, knowing it’s not coming back to the shop for who knows how many months. FOMO abuse sucks. I fully support people sticking to f2p.
The coating system is garbage compared to Destiny shaders, that once purchased or unlocked, can be applied to any individual armor part, weapon, vehicle, or AI (Destiny Ghost shell). The Infinite system is trash, and they have no valid excuse not to just do the same thing, since they already ripped off tons of stuff from Destiny and other games.
I would expect every season to come with a new armor core. So there’ll probably be a Mark VI season with Halo 2, 3, & 4 armor. Probably an expanded universe themed season or two with armor from or inspired by the books and comics. I would bet a lot of the added armors to MCC will make up a large portion of the upcoming seasons.
I’m sure more cores are coming, but my concern is whether or not they will be adding torsos, legs, and back accessories, or if the cores will just be one base set armor with slapped on attachments for the whole game like Reach, for all future cores. Even if they just lazily port everything from MCC and Halo Online, I’ll actually be satisfied with that
First season is just reach stuff unforutanetly, sucks cause the new armor is locked behind paywalls. Also sucks that this season is gonna last for 6 months, im already at level 40 in the battlepass.
I’m at level 92 since I used Rockstar and Pringles 2XP on everything and always finish the weekly day 1, including both resets the first week. I’m now just going up one level per day, not using boosters, since 6 months is a long time from now, so I’ll just save my boosters for any events and when the BP is extended with Campaign challenges. Honestly gonna drop the multiplayer if they don’t add filler content and just play something else or the campaign. Didn’t feel like playing every week for 6 months for one Battle Pass.
