With all the talk of the new Promethean weapons, it seems like people have forgotten an old favorite of mine: the Sentinel Beam. It seems like I’m a bit behind on Halo 4 news right now, so can anyone tell me if there is any news of this weapon returning, possibly as a loadout option?
If I’m correct, it seems like there are only six Promethean weapons in the game (light rifle, scattershot, suppressor, boltshot, binary rifle, and incineration cannon) and I feel that the Prometheans’ portion of the sandbox would be lacking without one or two more weapons that fill unique roles (there haven’t been any precise automatic weapons confirmed to be in Halo 4’s sandbox so far).
Thoughts?
Considering there should be Sentinels in Halo 4 (maybe), I do wonder that, but even in H3 they were never in matchmaking proper
With promethins I don’t see the need for sentinels and therefore noe sentinel beam. I never cared for it that much personally, was really only good against flood.

I think Sentinels of some kind are present on ALL Forerunner defense constructs. Besides, it was never really used to its full potential in Halo 2 or 3, and I’d like to see it actually featured in matchmaking on more than one map.
