I don’t know, theres nothing official but seems that every one believe there is going to be a Halo 2 remake.

What they said is nothing will be confirmed until after Halo 4 has been released. They said something like…
We are focusing on Halo 4 right now.
Basically, we will decide this after Halo 4’s release. If they are working on Halo 2 right now it would be the very start. Maybe just looking if it’s possible, ETC.
Halo 2 will come back online eventually. How long is up to Microsoft for now.

When you say: “will come back online” you mean its multiplayer will be back or that the game it self will return on a remake?

It’s just something I think. In what capacity isn’t something I know. I hope it comes out in a remake with XBL enabled MP MM.
Personally I think there will be a remake, but I doubt this one will add a multiplayer since it will be the competence of Halo 4. I think it will be like Halo CE anniversary, maps and modes for Halo 4 or the big Halo that is out at the moment.

I pretty sure it is going to happen. In fact I would be shocked if it didn’t. The reason is this. Whether it would come out in the 360 or the next gen xbox, MS isn’t going to let a large chunk of its flagship go unplayable in the next generation.
I would be surprised if the original xbox games were compatible with the next gen Xbox but it would be colossally stupid for MS to not make the next xbox compatible with the longest running console generation. So assuming the Xbox 8 or 720 or whatever is backwards compatible CE, H3, Wars, ODST, Reach, and Halo 4 will all be set to go but H2 would be missing.
A Halo 2 anniversary would also coincide with the cycle that was started in Halo 3. 3 years of core game development(H4 development started before Reach released) and then a Campaign add on and DLC wrap up for the game. H3(2007)ODST(2009)Reach(2010)CEA(2011)H4(2012) and a Halo 2 anniversary would fit in at 2014, a year before Halo 5’s likely release in 2015.
All in all it seems to me Halo 2 anniversary is very likely.
It would be awesome to see that. But Id rather them make halo 2 a live game again, just as it was. Just return it to its live state so we can all play. I want to play the original game. Yes a remake would be nice but like yall are saying the multiplayer will not be the same. I want some old school halo 2, even the graphics would be a welcome relief. Any ways, it would be nice to see some halo 2 remake.

Lets all hope they include MP MM on XBL (hopefully unchanged, including the interface). If they didn’t I’d just keep playing the copy of Halo 2 I already have.

No really i can’t see why they wouldn’t make a Halo 2 HD.
I’m fine with a Halo 2 Anniversary because I do need a Halo 2 to complete my game collection but please no Halo 3 Anniversary I don’t want to keep buying remakes and I like the way Halo 3 looks as it is because I just recently bought it.

What they say isn’t always what they do. It’s very possible they have started some sort of feasibility process. It’s also possible they are past that point or have decided to do it. It’s also possible they are in the process of producing Halo 2 anniversary. It’s also possible they haven’t done anything in terms of Halo 2 anniversary.

I think they will make a Halo 2A. Hopefully they will bring the MM with it.
For all I care, they can release Halo 2 onto XBOX Live Arcade, making that the only way to play on live. I know I would pay for it and so would quite a few people I know. It wouldn’t cost them a lot of money to set up, but would make them a ton of money. Sure people who own the game will be mad they have to buy it again, but I for one wouldn’t care as long as I have an untouched H2 back on Live again.
I hope they make a remake… Halo 2 BEST HALO EVER…so far

They should do both. Allow us to play across platforms. Original Xbox, Xbox marketplace, Xbox 360, and the new Xbox with the redone version.
It would be the only game in history to have this done.
I.e. all the games purchased would be the exact same. Except the redone one.
I’d get back on XBL and pay that way but I’d also be willing to pay a access fee for playing on the Xbox original just to play Halo 2. Something a bit less than paying for the remake.

I don’t think we will, and I kind of hope we don’t. CE’s remake was a nod to 10 years of Halo. Remaking Halo 2 would just be seen as milking the franchise, and not as many people as you guys think would actually play it, even if it was on Live again.
Sorry peeps. I’m sure the flames will come strong. I wouldn’t be opposed to re-releasing it on Arcade or simply putting the servers back up (that would be awesome) but a full Halo 2 Remake? No.
