In the past, I have advocated for what I saw would be the best direction for gameplay in future titles ( as have others, whom also have different opinions) and that was to either keep, replace or tweak the mechanics introduced in halo 5. In infinite and on 5, I have gotten alot of harassment and name calling for simply stating that I wished for some things in 5 ( and previous titles, like dual wielding) to have made a return in infinite. But what I don’t get is why people play halo 5 if they prefer infinite ( since it’s out) over it and be toxic about it.)
I don’t know precisely you are trying to accuse me of lying about as u have mentioned 2 instances. All of people in the halo community can verify some form of toxicity ( some more or less extreme than others) for even playing halo 5 after a few rounds in infinite or simply advocating in favor for mechanics in 5 before infinite was released.
im with you in the sense of whenever saying anything in gesture of liking halo 5 or things i miss from it, people just dog pile ya. Feel like the “anti-cod” fan base of halo are very much those messheads.
Side note: I had someone go ballistic when I told them, ground pound did not originate from call of duty. I also had some dude have his party message me for saying 5 is not like call of duty. The funny thing is, it was in 5 matchmaking that this altercation occurred.
I wish halo 5 had a spin off on PC like how people started up halo online and all those other projects. O play with a controller, but I just think it would be cool to see someone basically expand on what 5 was, refine it, add to it, etc.
Anyone who hates on Halo 5 were just UNSKILLED in the game, Halo Infinite gives these Unskilled players the illusion that they are skilled, but then all complain about de-sync issues, lag, cheating and crossplay…
Needless to say, Haters are going to hate and the one thing they hate most is the TRUTH.
Its a hard to swallow pill, but Halo 5 Multiplayer is SUPERIOR to Halo Welfare AHEM I mean Infinite’s Multiplayer.
Agreed completely. I say good things about Halo 5’s art style (it’s really overhated for all the stupidest and wrong reasons), and people jump on me like Kleers. Hence why I hate 99% of the Halo community now.
Very poor response to a topic which was about being accepted despite having opposing opinions. You’re saying anyone who dislikes Halo 5 is unskilled. That’s simply untrue. I like Halo 5 for what it is, but I do not think it’s the direction this franchise should go. At least not currently. So this makes me unskilled? Anyone who dislikes it’s map design and abilities is unskilled? Please, don’t kid yourself. This is subjective.
Since I’m unable to edit the post I made, I’ll just throw in that by your own logic by disliking Infinite, you’re bad at it. You SUCK at Halo Infinite and it’s the TRUTH! The truth HURTS! Now, see how silly that sounds? It’s just wrong. You could be good at a game and still have critiques of it.
Thats cool you have an opinion based on my opinion.
I agree, but then again I disagree…
“ Find the similarities and respect the differences. “ - In my Opinion, Halo needs to be more of a face paced game, Not HCS Competitive, Cause that isn’t fast paced, that is Fast Cash for 343 Industries and “ pRo pLaYeRs “ using the Halo Community to Buy Skins, Armor and what not through the In game Micro-transaction store.
You see, Your first reply to me was well constructed and thought out ( Kind Of )… Now you just sound stupid, Im not calling you stupid, Im saying you sound stupid with how you constructed that post / comment / with you’re second reply… You want to talk about critiques? My guy go look at my past post and comments on other forums, I’ll link you 2 here that I made and they blew up…
Of course you get upset when I use your logic against you. That’s my point. You’re not going to help anyone comprehend anything with that attitude. I was pointing out how obnoxious your above statements were. Not insulting you. For all I know, you could be highly skilled. My point was that you’re coming off as arrogant and very biased. I ask that you read my statements again. I’m not trying to fight with you here. I’m saying what you are calling an opinion, (everyone who dislikes Halo 5 is bad at it) is completely untrue. Nothing more, nothing less.
Oh, and I never had an issue with you liking Halo 5 over Infinite. It’s a perfectly fine opinion to have. I never said one thing that would imply you aren’t allowed to prefer Halo 5 over Infinite. You came up with that on your own, I’m afraid.
Quote and explain to me where Im upset… I’ll Wait.
Note though, You are upset based on how you constructing your replies, I and everyone can tell. You keep referring to me, almost in a “ Targeting way “ I don’t care, but assuming I am being arrogant based on an opinion is pretty dumb.
My statement is my opinion, You or no can change can change that, especially if you are making assumption based on nothing but an “ Expressed Opinion “ ; Again If my opinion offends or bothers you, ( Obnoxious ) - Then I do not know what to tell you child.
Being unskilled in a game, does not mean being bad at the game… Comprehend that ; No where did I state anyone was bad at Halo 5 cause they didn’t like it.
Being unskilled means inexperienced, most players didn’t like Halo 5 cause they assumed they were required to use all the abilities at hand built with the spartan.
“ Sprint “ 50% of the community don’t like ; Here is a Straight Fact, Because you don’t like it does not mean you need to use it, the game isn’t going to force to.
“ Spartan Charge “ 50% of the community did not like it ; Here is another Straight Fact, Because you did not like it, does not mean you need to use it, The game isn’t going to force you to and the CRAZY thing is, To use Spartan Charge, you needed to Sprint ; If you didn’t like both, guess what, you didn’t need to use both of them…
Alot of the issues people had / have with Halo 5 seem to be ***** or forget that it is there option to use the abilities or even play game…
Don’t subjugate yourself to something you don’t like
The game or whatever it is will tell you, “ You’re unskilled, Inexperienced and that whatever arguments you have will be contradicted the moment you open your mouth to express concern.
I do not need to, You see Im all about Finding the similarities and respecting the differences… Hints why I said :
If that is what has you under the impression of me being “ Upset “, then child, You are unskilled to even be having a conversation with.
I was and still am telling you, I have my opinion and I respect your’s or anyones opinion.
OP’s Title and Post is what I was replying too, Not you or ANYONE in specific. In general I targeted anyone just hating on Halo 5.
Why?
Cause anyone who hates on it can never come up with an actual argument without bringing up
“ The Campaign was bad "… No it wasn’t, the campaign wasn’t about Chief, It was about Locke. How does that make it bad?
Halo 5 was like Halo 2 ; Where Halo 2 was about the Arbiter and Not Chief.
If you played Spartan OP’s read the comics and followed the books, You would of have had an idea with what was going to happen in Halo 5…
“ But I shouldn’t have to read the books or anything not in the games “ - Thats great, You don’t need to, but don’t get uptight when you have a ton of questions upon completing the game(s)
“ Multiplayer is broken “ - No, Multiplayer was designed for HSC, bringing Halo back into the Competitive scene. This means, there was going to be a learning curve to the game. “ Breakout “ was the tutorial game mode to tell players [ Here is how fast the TTK is and the potential you can reach with equal starts Abilities and weapons ]
Again, Being Unskilled does not mean bad ; It’s inexperience, Thats all.
Literally All I was doing was going through tabs of post’s I had open for infinite, reading them, posting my opinion and moving onto the next post.
What is there to fight over when I was just posting my Opinion, Take, Stance, Statement to a random post.
You say you don’t want to “ fight “ but have continued to rebuttal my opinion, with me dissecting your claims and having to break down my opinion, over and over.
I never said I liked Halo 5 over Halo Infinite ; I said Halo 5 Multiplayer is Superior to Halo Infinite’s Multiplayer…
It is just an opinion of mine
Why yes it, after all it is just my Opinion.
The issue is ; Is that you’ve been disputing me the whole time on this matter… Like my guy…
I came up with an Opinion and posted it ; You came up with a dispute and argument all on your own.
Now before you reply, re read what I said, Take note on how I constructed everything, breaking down everything you’ve said , then dismantling all of it…
NO WHERE do I engage, Im just replying to you.
So if you reply, do not engage if the manner of an argument, differences or assumptions, Cause Imma callout out.
I asked 1 question, that being at the beginning of this reply.
You don’t need to answer it, but if you do, best be a damn good reason to believe I am “ Upset “
( Note, I had to break down everything you posted in response to my opinion.
If you don’t reply, thats all cool, I’ll take it as a sign that you finally comprehend that I have my opinion and you have your’s, in which, you haven’t stated, but have brought mine into discussion.
I am tired of having to type / get my point to you, but Believe me, I am 117% down to type chapters on you ; So as long it is related to my “ Post “ and to this topic of OP @Korgoth …
To clarify; the reason “50 percent” of the community ( most likely far less) doesn’t like spartan charge is because they are misinformed. At halo 5’s launch , it was more powerful than most weapons; it was patched and if people got the bad taste out of their mouth, they would have appreciated it alot more, I feel. Just like if they add new mechanics to infinite, to bring those who feel it is lacking in they are not going to give it a second chance.
I read some comments and food for thought: 343 should have never consulted with pro gamers on the development if infinite. It us unprofessional. Did Tom Brady dictate the rules of the game to the NFL? It is a conflict of interest and I noticed a rise in toxicity as result of those announcements. Twitch/streaming culture needs to remain subservient to game game development.
I only ask that you read and understand the following;
Look, I’m not here to argue about how good Halo 5 is or how bad Infinite is or anything like that. I respect your opinions. I respect your interests and what preferences you hold. I’m not attacking them. Just so we are clear.
My only problem is that you believe anyone who is hating on Halo 5 was unskilled at it. That’s it. If you really really want to call it an opinion, I guess I’ll leave it at that. I’m not here to argue with you, sir. I just found it ironic by the fact you brought in that attack, bold one at that, at other Halo fans in a post about being accepted by other fans. Yet you were the one bringing in campaign discussion and stuff. You, sadly, misunderstood me.
I don’t want to read anymore essays from you. I don’t want that “%117 readiness” either. I simply hope you understand my original intentions and that we can shake hands🤝 and move on.
It’s a shame that discussions have to go this way on this site.
(Now, you have my apologies if it seemed I was being inflammatory. I can assure you, these weren’t my intentions)
Finally, please understand that I don’t have any intentions of replying, assuming you understand the whole reason I’ve been replying in the first place. I hope to see you in Halo 5 Matchmaking. Have a good day.
Now, to respond to OP.
Harassment of opinions is silly and should never have happened to you. Name-calling sometimes shows how immature someone is, if we’re being honest. This is the sad reality of a divided Halo fan base. Where discussions get tossed in as arguments and simple critiques land down as attacks to some people.
I recommend you do, as I, and others have done.
Provide feedback, give constructive criticism and keep it clean. (ODST reference)
Be proud of what you love. Not everyone will agree and that’s okay, ultimately. As long as you respect others.
My two cents:
While I prefer Infinite to Halo 5, there are aspects and elements of Halo 5, that I did enjoy. I liked how weapons felt, for example. I thoroughly enjoyed it’s forge mode and use it quite often. Like any other Halo, however, it’s flawed and that’s ok. To hate on someone because they enjoy it, or express favor of it, is purely silly.
