Maybe my memory is skewed but it feels like we haven’t had a Mk V or VII unlock in a while. Everything is focused on the Rakshasa core lately. I know the Season 2 BP had some Mk VII stuff in it but even after that it feels like 343 is done adding more options to that core. And the Mk V has just been completely ignored since the end of Season 1. It’s like “Oh you want Halo Reach armor? Here you go, now shut up. We have more Black and Red weapon skins to develop!”
I really hope both of these armor sets get more love in the next season. Rakshasa is worse than the H4/5 armors in my mind and should have been the fracture set instead of the hideous Entrenched stuff.

They still have unreleased helmets and parts.

CQB and mark V helmet were shown in the MP trailer over a year ago.
Various mark 5b shoulders and helmets are missing but in the code. Both being vaulted and or never released.

Uny gave some indication on Twitter recently that the conspicuously absent Mk V [B] pieces will be added in a way that takes into account players’ feedback and should be pretty well recieved… Just no indication as to when. So I expect those probably sometime this year, maybe coinciding with S3.
As for Mk VII, I think their gameplan is to keep it as kind of the base core for everything and to keep adding a solid amount of new pieces for it with every season for the forseeable future. There is a lot of Mk VII stuff in the S2 battle pass, despite the store bundles for it being pretty sparse for it this season. I think we have every reason to expect S3 will be similar.
I’m under the impression Mark Vii is going to be the main core.
