Maybe everyone is a try hard because the game doesn’t work half the time and you have to sweat extra hard just to get a normal kill.
Could be like how Tryhard is used in Team Fortress 2. Where you see people posing as “friendlies” in normal matches, usually heavies crouching with sandviches in their hands, and if you kill them they go ape shot on you like you personally attacked them.
I get called a tryhard even when I’m not trying at all in that game too. Just putting in enough effort into the match so that I’m at least contributing something for the team.
This game desperately needs PVE. Ranked is a hamster wheel anymore. I play my heart out only to stay in the same place. Too stressful.
We probably shouldn’t be arguing about whether or not Forza has gone downhill on a Halo forum, but I do want to explain myself better.
I have not played it heavily, but I have played it enough to know that it was made in the early 2000s (around the same time as CE) and had no expectation to need a story. Gran Turismo has never had a story and has still been successful.
I had more fun with Infinite, especially on Legendary. I didn’t have to wait for Buck, Tanaka, and Vale to all ignore me (or die themselves) before I could go to the last checkpoint. I also enjoyed the open world aspect of it.
NFS does have lots of customization. This customization is licensed, Forza doesn’t need to have all the customization NFS does, but it should at least have more than a front splitter and a rear wing/lip. Especially on some of the more well known cars such as the Subayota BR86. Those cars have a fair bit of customization, but it still feels bland. And a car sometimes having something special isn’t all that good. I don’t expect every old Jaguar or Sprite in the game to have some crazy body kit, but there are cars in the game that lack levels of customization that they could have.
Forza’s soundtrack (specifically Horizon) has been degrading. NFS has been mostly Okay, as it seems to be changing with the times, rather than Forza’s approach which is changing for its audience. The amount of censorship in Horizon 4 was… extreme, and led to songs being butchered for small things. The original Horizon was a music festival, with cars as a bonus. This meant that the songs were both really good and had little to no censorship.
I’d compare Infinite to Reach. Infinite has the old art style, “Reach” level of customization, and brought an influx of players back for its launch after they left the series. Once Infinite is on its feet again, it can probably be one of the best Halo games there is. I don’t have this hope for Horizon. Its demographic has changed from teenagers to toddlers. The game is suffering a similar problem people claim Halo is suffering. It is aiming for too young of an audience. Halo isn’t too young, and I think that blood being removed isn’t a great tragedy.
5 was pretty much behind a paywall too. Especially if you wanted cool stuff immediately. As for people not wanting to do “Infinite’s grind”, people would grind Halo 5 for armor. Every day on the forums another posts comes up stating challenges are too hard. Others have complained that the rewards. Even if there are other games out there to play, some people still have clung to this one.
This game has reach custimization really um i can name a good few pieces of armor that arent their currently like the og mark v helemet or the flight skull helemt. We dont have elites nor can we custimize them forge was at launch which is custom maps. We could fully customize our gamemodes not just our weapons movemnt and health. Thats a lot of custimization not currently in the game. reach didnt lock anything behind a battlepass nor did it lock that xp to unlock stuff behind challenges. The challenges were extra on top of your performance. Even if this game does manage to become good. Its far too late its going to have the same niche kind of playerbase that 5 got and other games like no mans sky. You dissapoint your fans too hard at launch or overhype your game and its going to fail if you cant deliver on those promises. This game lost a majority in the first month it was just a trickle at that point. Now all thats left is the heavy fans. I havent played it since campaign launch i beat that got bored of mp and uninstalled all of it. But mcc still chills on my hd every once in a while getting loaded up and played its not like when i was a kid but at least i wanted to play mcc. And really i have no intetion of going back. Someone else brought up the users of this forum stating how we always see the same people saying the same thing well thats because waypoint has less than 1000 total user and less than 100 active daily. It was a problem i started running into the first month of the game where i started seeing the same people game after game even a block didnt stop them from being connected to me even waited tonlet their game load for 5 mins i waited before hitting start to be thrown in their game mid flipping match. That is where i officially realized this game isnt worth your hope it isnt worth your cash and it certainly isnt worth your time.
Put this way ive come back each game release to check out the game. I havent been satisfied yet. Now lets point another xbox exclusive series. Our beloved gears of war. 1,2,3 were all made by the same company. 4 and 5 so far are made by a new company formed out of the people who wanted to keep working on gears. 4 was found to be the worst in the series so far and people were skeptical of 5 because of 4 but 5 came out swinging and now has about as much content as mcc.
Dont put your hope in a team that takes 6 months just to release a few maps or weapons or armors. Their are pletlnty of smaller companies with less employees that can do it much faster and with fewer bugs or issues
As for discussing the other games like forza nfs and gears yeah theres really only 1 person that doesnt like that evryone else leaves it alone so long as your using it as a constructive part of your post.
And as for all the music everyone has different tasre and ill agree im not a fan of the censorship but im also not a fan of rap and believe most music being released these days (on the radio mainly) is crap. Game music for me has always been a hit or miss very few games have full soundtracks i like listening too. Horizon 5 has like 2 songs, 4 had none, i didnt play 3, 2 was meh and yeah 1 had the best but was still undermined by 06 most wanted’s soundtrack. As for the campaigns. Back then yeah forza and gran turismo had no story and still to this day doesnt for both of their simulator titles. Horizon was a break off for those who wanted something closer to need for speed. Speaking of if nfs has the licenses that would explain why forza doesnt have the same body customization as forza is also licensed through these manufacturers but got exclusive rights to specific cars like the warthog and the hotwheels cars. But we also got the heavy exclusive rights to ferrari making forza the only game you can drive every ferari ever made
And last thing because this has taken too long to type. Getting ai to do what you want has never been any games strong suit. If you have ai in a game its either good or really bad. For me with 5 i must have caught a decent updage that didnt break them as i had no issues playing it on normal (first play is always for the story difficulty bragging rights came come after if the story or game was actually food enough for a second playthrough.
And the young audience thing as i quoted in and completely forgot. Yeah halo did amazingly as a rated m title we had some swearing not a lot but some and yeah lots of blue alien blood. I can name 3 games that still have alien blood and are not rated m and they have a few swears too problem is comapnies want to get younger gamers involved so they can keep making money for generations. You cant rely on the old fans all the time as we eventually die. But to target too young of an audience yeah ill agree thats become a massive problem with triple a games
Casual as they come and still around, sort of, kinda, not lots…
Maybe?
Pretty much, yeah. Not even a year after launch and this game is already dying. Yet they expect us to believe they can hold it together for 10 years?
I read the rest of your post, and I don’t really have a response other than, our opinions will be different with neither being wrong. However, for this aspect you misunderstood me. The game has lots of armor, and various art styles of the armor. The most limiting element of customization in the game is coatings. But I think that if more coatings were free, and there were more coatings, period, Infinite would easily hold number one spot for most customization. The reason the game has “Reach levels of customization” is because of simply how many choices (after spending $10 annoyingly) you have.
