Are these two shots in-game?

I really can’t believe it! these two screenshots are in-game or not? they’re like next generation graphics! no way 360 can handle that, even in the cut-scenes.

First
Second

They are in game as far as I know, but looking at the Vidoc the Single-player graphics look out of this world for a 360 game. Tech wise it looks on another level to Halo3 and Reach, I can’t wait to see more.

Aren’t those plastic spartan model? XD

yeah, the single player ones are really out of this generation, not only the 360, even Uncharted 3 doesn’t have graphics on par with that. anyway, until I don’t see them running on my console, no way can believe that !

Looks like the McFarlane toy to me… LoLz

Second one looks faker than [insert female celebrity here]'s -Yoink!-, the textures look to photorealistic, hard to tell though. If it was I applaud the artist.

First one is definitely real.

Based on the MP graphics showed and the ones showing MC, they took too apart from each other (still work in progress as stated), can’t tell if it’s pre-render on MC, or graphics will actually be lower end at MP to preserve the 30fps and lag.

I’m computer scientist (as many here I guess, and if that matters), I know of what i’m saying, for those who ask for links and proofs.

I think it will be a similar deal to the Halo 3 reveal trailer, the one where chief is overlooking the massive crater.

Yes, it’s likely that the shots were made using real game assets. That’s what Bungie presented Halo 3’s first look as and a lot of silly people genuinely believed the in-game campaign would look that nice.

At the end of the day though, this is just a trailer. Halo 4 is being built on the Reach engine. The only evidence of in-game graphical ability sohuld be taken from the brief gameplay shots and map overviews, which look nice enough in their own right. I would expect campaign to be a tad prettier than multiplayer but not by a massive leap.

Well judging by the blurry textures and if you look closely little tricks to keep the poly-count low it may very well be in-game. Other than that I am really impressed by the lighting. 343 Finally answered my prayers by putting in god rays

In-game is what you see during the actual gameplay.

So this is in-engine. And in-engine only means “what the engine is capable off”. And this means "what you see on the screenshots (textureing, lighting, and maybe upscaled models) doesn’t necessarily represent what you see during the actual gameplay.

Just look the two screens here:

This is in-game: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7374/bf3vsh4.jpg
And tbh, it looks like Reach just a bit better. Still no really Anti Aliasing. I hope it supports at least true 720p…
And even the BF3 screen looks better ^^

This is in-engine cauz it doesn’t really represent any kind of gameplay and btw check out the background…it’s blurry all over the place and you dont see any Aliasing (<<< which is the exact opposite of the in-game screen above cauz the in-game screen has tons of aliasing…just like Halo 3): http://www.abload.de/img/halo-vehicle445it.gif
