Hi I just bought a xbox one so I could start playing the halo series (so I dont own xbox gold yet). I am asking the community if there still is a big amount of players playing this game, and by big amount I mean I will find a game within 1 min (EU).

Go gold and the fun starts from there. There’s enough of us there to keep you playing all day online until you can’t hold your controller anymore.
They took off region lock which might get you faster games I think, I get a game every minute but Im in the USA

Same here, jumping into a game quickly is easy.
There are no population counters, but the game is consistently in the Xbox LIVE top ten most played list. Which is good. It’s not nearly as popular as it was in the Halo 3 days, but according to 343 it has the “largest player retention” since Halo 3, meaning that those who play, play frequently. Or in other words, highest player dedication of any Halo game since Halo 3. But that’s all we really have to go on. Their word and Xbox LIVE’s most played list. But it’s doing pretty well.
But search times are very fast. I live in the US and have pretty good internet, so it could be different depending on where you live.
(Although maybe wait until tomorrow because Xbox LIVE is having some issues right now)

They just removed region-lock matches, so you should be finding matches within 30 seconds - 3 minutes.
If it takes long, I just sell my Useless REQS.

210,000 players ranked in slayer in March. So I would say there is still quite a bit of activity. Can’t speak for EU wait times, though.

Welcome to the community, hopefully you have a lot of fun. Most people on the forums are friendly so if you have problems or questions just ask.
From my experience Halo 5 still has a dedicated fan base despite the criticism it has received, and new content each month should hopefully bring more people back.

Well, I don’t. Can’t post data if I don’t have any Halo 5 population counters. Right now, 8:33 AM Pacific Time, Halo 5 is at 10th place on the MPXBL games, and Battlefront is 11th. Battlefront Stats currently say that the XB1 population is around 14,000 players. So, assume that Halo 5, currently, is around the 15,000 to 17,000 mark.

In the UK most of the times there was just the odd times games couldn’t be found normally just short late times but now it’s all perfect all the time.
Get it with confidence - still a very actively played game on Live, I never have issues getting into matches and typically that’s under a minute of search time.
It’s widely played and it still will be widely played for months to come, with some really anticipated game modes being released in the upcoming free monthly updates, like Infection and Firefight.
Well we can take a conclution out of this and that is that the majority of players are from US servers.
And we have a friendly community
