are there commendations in H4?

I am curious if halo 4 will have commendations or permanent long lasting challenges.

They were a nice distraction, but I’d trade the disc space immediately for pretty much anything else like more emblems.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet and i hope that if they comms return, they feel like rewards instead of “hey guys i can grind AR kills!” that take forever to level.

That’s called padding to extend a game’s life and just like Sonic Unleashed, it was the unseeded kind of padding.

I liked it at first because it could show what kind of player you are and what weapons people should leave for each other.

But once they discovered what was broken everybodys Commendations just became Onyx for the DMR, Melee, and Banshee.
and Laser Designator for Campaign.

I don’t know, but I hope they do. I’d prefer to have them award no credits or “Spartan points” this time though. Maybe unlock some extra armor or something like that instead, so that you can actually see what you’ve accomplished.

I dislike them in Reach and DONT wait them in HALO 4

I’d love to see them return in Halo 4, but they definitely should be tweeked. If people want to grind let em, it’s their waste of time not yours. I made it a point not to and I love how mine reflect what type of player I am.

My biggest beef is they need to make some of them more realistically reflect your playstyle. For example, in the multiplayer commendations, why does the wheelman commendation take the same amount to level up as the vehicle kills commendation? I much prefer driving a warthog and my buddy shooting and with over 1,000 driver assists I feel I should be close to if not already gold, not just barely over silver. You can get kills mowing people over with the ghost. you can’t get driver assists by yourself so why are they equal in ranking up? Especially when most maps with vehicles have weapons that make it difficult to even go on a single wheelman spree.
