In Halo 5, the Hannibal vehicles, especially the Hannibal Scorpion are really, really advanced, having very powerful lasers. Are these actually canon (like will they be used in the coming fight against Cortana) or are they just within the wargames?
Well Hannibal has been seen in other places. They also manufactured the recruit helmet in 4.

I believe canonically they are just under testing in War Games for the time being, but could appear in Halo 6 campaign technically.
Honestly they aren’t that good. Their weapons are good but their armor is probably weaker than their Corp (Scorpion and Mantis) or Oni (Wasp) counterparts.
They are canon, however they are being tested in Warzone currently and have not been deployed on the field in actual combat yet.

Their armor is between the various camoes (they all share the same armor) and ONI but they have stronger shields, at the cost of recharge time being longer.
And they are insane, what are you talking about?

Either way it’s canon, because Wargames is canon. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s my understanding that what’s canon is that the UNSC simulated Hannibal vehicles for Spartans to use in their training simulations, whether they actually have those Hannibal vehicles ready to deploy on the battlefield or not.
Also judging from their flavor text, Hannibal has been working with the UNSC to put their super duper sci-fi weapons onto UNSC vehicles, or something. So that’s canon if the descriptions are canon, right?

I only play firefight, but I think they’re great, actually. I’ve found the Hannibal Scorpion is probably the best thing to use to fight Warden Eternal (unless he’s hiding in a building). The massive damage output is great against bullet sponge bosses.
I think it would be interesting to see in Halo 6 campaign but something to discover like the special wepon variants found in certain missions of the halo 5 campaign.

I know its weaker then the ONI but I think its more durable than the Corp
It’s a good question
Like the answer to life: why not.
