i’m seeing pictures with the new grunt and elite pictures and it looks to me like the elites might be in the covenant again can someone please explain???
It seems that the Elites, Grunst etc. are not part of the classic Covenant cauz Cortana says something in the first mission about their new amor.
“The armor doesn’t look like the standard covenant type” or something like that.
I guess they’re some kind of heretics or parts of the old covenant seeking revenge, new technology etc.
They were always part of the covenant.
Its just that the Covenant Separatists broke off and allied themselves with the humans to prevent the firing of the Halo rings.
If It really was 2557/2558 or something when the game starts, much could have changed. Remember, at least half of the Sangheili want to destroy the humans. The Arbiter has removed his title - he is only another warrior now. And ONI had been trying to provoke a war so that the Elites would no longer be a threat.
sooo… their where some elites that didnt leave the covenant? that to me sounds stupid if im hearing it right because they all should have left the covenant when the brutes took over
Could be the Covenant Separatists. Something could have happen, like ONI, and their alliance could have broken with the UNSC.

There are still some Sangheili that think that humans will repair themselves, and them come back and wipe the rest of the Sangheili out, even with the alliance. They want to kill off the humans first. Read Glasslands. I guess we’ll find out more when The Thursday War comes out.
