After a busy day yesterday and barely getting to play any of the game, I decided to take Halo 4 for a spin with my brother, who bought the game 50/50 with me, and enter all the millions of codes we got from the expensive limited edition.
Whilst he goofed around, I painstakingly entered every one of the codes on my account. For each code, I checked the usage restrictions; and each one clearly stated that every user on the Xbox would get the in-game content offered by the code.
Well that’s all fine and dandy, except for the fact that my brother can’t access any of the armor, emblems, or skins on his account.
I first thought this to be a glitch or bug, so I searched around the Internet and discovered this is a widespread problem. People are misled into believing that the codes; many paid lots of money for; will work for everyone on the console (like all DLC), but it turns out they only work for the person who entered them.
I’m still waiting for an explanation. If this was intended, this was a low blow to consumers. I’m currently giving Microsoft and 343 the benefit of the doubt and thinking this is just a bug that will be fixed. But if this was, as I said before, the intention, I’m extremely dissipointed in both companies; as this is a blatant misleading of those loyal fans who paid around $100 for all the extra content, and being told it would work for everyone on the console as in every other game.
I swear, if my brother better not have to pay for all the map packs…We’ve both been waiting for this game for over a year now, and split the cost right down the middle. I don’t deserve to get all the rewards while he gets nothing.
right now it is. i hope 343 notice this and fixes that, to my understanding, the only thing that should be account locked is avatar items. so 343 please fix this. its a big problem and i hope to hear from them about this soon,
When I redeemed all the bonuses on my account it showed for me and not my brother, that’s the normal part, but it gets weird. When my bro played alone in War games, he leveled and it showed what unlocked for him, it suddenly showed he unlocked the le bonuses, gamestop bonuses and map pass bonuses. But then when he went to armory it didn’t show the stuff unlocked for him.
So this leads me to think this is an actual glitch…
Hopefully 343 will address this ASAP, my bro wont stop -Yoinking!- about how I got all the stuffs…
Is there a way to directly address this issue to microsoft/343i , forums are flooded with other things and this issue seems to be taking a back seat at the moment… :`(

i did last night. said to call back in two weeks. but they did say that those items should no be account locked. the only thing that should is avatar items. and also the same this just happen to me. its showed i had it and then when i tried to get it, its just vanished. so its a glitch. and i hope 343 fixes this fast.

Now that we can sorta confirm it to be a bug, 343 just needs to roll out an update to fix this. Lets get this issue known to all so that they can address this

trust me i have been, i’m one of the reasons that WGMP in the LE was the same as the one you can buy on xbox.
My bro only wants the AR prime skin and a few other skins but thank god this is only a glitch and I hope this (and Flood custom games) are fixed in that update 343 talked about that will happen in a week or two.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me as well, it’s rather annoying. If somebody bought a game with their sibling and both paid half, they should definitely both have access to the pre-order bonuses, no?
I and my wife are having this problem as well. I have all the bonus content she got nothing. Reach she had all my bonus content from the legendary box. Shoot! She even had the DLC from map packs that 343 developed and released. She put the game in and was like "what the -Yoink-?!?!
Totally forgot my siblings could use the content too!! lol we were looking at the codes and deciding who should get what. Forgot it only applied to avatar items. Hopes it get fix
I have filed a complaint with the Swedish costumer support and there starting a “investigation” about this.
But as far as the support knows the DLC is account locked and it seems MS messed up big time when they forgot to change the user restrictions.
My plea to all off you is to call in and complain about this so that they either have to compensate us or fix the issue for everyone.

nope that was 343 fault. i can still use my other accounts DLC.

No, actually. DLC is always connected to the account as well as the console that it was purchased on. That way, everybody on the console has access to the DLC, but only when they play on that console. Furthermore, the person who purchased the DLC has access to it on any console they play on, but they must be online to do so.
VivaLaJam26, you are wrong. This is the only game I have ever encountered which has been account locked, not GOW or any of the previous halos, not mass effect, not Left4dead.
This is really annoying me and my bro. I hope they fix this!
