What design will the Forerunners be?
These Prometheans are defense A.I’s. They are not actual Forerunners

I HOPE the Forerunners look like the 2nd link. Eurgh not like the first one.
1st Pic: Those are advanced Promethean Defense AI used for fighting the Flood. The Knight appears to be partially organic, the reason for it disintegrating upon death. There is a theory that these are created from the souls of deceased Prometheans, but they are not real Prometheans.
2nd Pic: That is concept art of a Promethean. A true Forerunner Promethean.
So, the Knight is a defense AI, and the 2nd pic is an actual Promethean.

Go to 8:11 and you’ll know exactly what the Prometheans are. 
“These are Prometheans that are sort of warrior units that are Forerunner in origin, but they are not the organic Forerunners.”

Well you can be sure they won’t look like the Knights because forerunners are a fully organic species, not a half robot half organic defense AI

Why call some Forerunners Prometheans? It would make much more sense to call the AI Prometheans and the Organics creators Forerunners.
Why do you care? I thought “noone” played the Campaign.

Have you read any of the Forerunner Trilogy books?
The Prometheans are the highest caste in the Forerunner Military. The Didact was a Promethean.
The defense AI in Halo 4 are Promethean constructs. Built and used by the Forerunner Prometheans.
Builders
Miners
Lifeworkers
Warrior-Servants The Prometheans were the highest class in the Warrior-Servant rate.
Engineers

as for the knights,crawlers and watcher they were made by prometheans who are indeed forerunners, promethean is a title/rank in the forerunner military.
The question that should be asked is:
will we be facing the forunners at all in the new trilogy?
What we should be asking is:
Will we face true forunners, and what will the didact look like?
The Promethean Knights are Promethean defensive A.I.
I think the real Prometheans (the 2nd picture) are Forerunners, but I am not sure. I think they are the Elite Warriors of the Forerunners, the best of the best. But I could be wrong.
