Are prometheans balanced now?

Not lore wise, but gameplay wise. Halo 4 had Knights being bullet sponges, Watchers were super cowards, Crawlers were just confident grunts.

But in Halo 5, they all had a weakness and were tuned down a knotch.

That being said, for gameplay wise, are prometheans better how they are or should 343i keep tuning them more in Infinite?

I’d rather they get rid of them completely and come up with a gripping story for why we only face Covenant and Flood (and potentially another faction) again. 343i’s Prometheans are broken from a gameplay standpoint and trying to fix them isn’t going to make them fun to fight.

I think they still need tuning.

Knights and watchers are fine I think. I like the mechanic where you have to destroy the “vents” on the Knights to make them vulnerable and then go in for the kill. Also their teleport was a little OP in H4 so they feel more balanced now. Watchers in H4 were spammed and just ran away constantly, really annoying to fight. They’re much better now.

Soldiers invincible dodge could be toned down a bit.

Crawlers should go back to crawling on walls and what not, that was cool.

Other than that I just want more types to fight. Not just variants within the same units like the sniper or turret soldiers but actual brand new Promethean enemies. There’s 4 right now excluding warden. I’d like it if they nerfed Warden in a way he could be a more regulated unit they could deploy instead of an actual boss you fight a few times, he could fill the Hunter role for the Prometheans. I know people would argue Knights already do that but eh, I’d like something a little more dangerous but not as crazy as H5 Warden. So that would be 5 types of enemies, I’d say add two or three more bumping it up to 7 or 8 types of enemies. Prometheans don’t hold a candle towards the Covenant in terms of personality so at least go crazy with variety. Then on top of that add more vehicles. We have one Promethean vehicle, c’mon.

Well I like how they’ve done the Knights now. The breaking apart thing is cool. Could use more types with more visable differences though.

Soldiers should be less bullet spongy, less teleporty, less changing that SAW into a fricking suppressor. Basically reduce their numbers and annoying factors.

Crawlers need to get back onto the walls and be able to crawl over barricades and through cracks and windows.

Watchers should have types that have various supportive uses. One that heals. One that ingress aggression and one that deploys hardlight shields on individual units. Then they have one rank up where they affect multiple allies

I don’t think balance or tuning is the problem, they just aren’t interesting to fight. Their weapon set, mechanics and how they co-ordinate with each other in a fight are dull and uninteresting.

The Knights for me are fine in terms of balance. I like the mechanic to have to break his parts, they are challenging, looks alright and I like when he deploys watchers in his back.
Crawlers are the most basic enemies, don’t see how it is any different from a grunt for example in terms of fighting and strategy they could actually crawl.
Watchers can be annoying but I like how they are supposed to be supporters for other Prometheans, they need to be more like their Halo 4 behavior.
Soldiers are elites with teleport. The way to fight them are basically the same. I wish they use the teleport in intelligent ways to flank, to hide, not just to drop in some random places.

What I think Prometheans really need is personality, and that includes behavior in battles, just like a team, they work together in intelligent ways to counter the player. I would add more watchers working together with soldiers teleporting with purpose, Knights are great in my opinion, and the Crawlers following commands of the soldiers, not just crazy dogs running ramdonly but crawling too.
And of course, make them less bullet sponge. What I think makes the fighting tedious is that you have to land too many shots in order to break their parts, I honestly love the feeling of breaking them up, the sound and the visuals are satisfying for me.
