Are people seriously upset about crouch strafing?

Ever since I’ve tried to be good at Halo this was a thing taught to my by the old, now gone but not forgotten RTS clanmates back in Halo 2 when I was 10 years old.
I hate many things that 343i has made but the crouch strafing and general gameplay of Halo 5 is solid and people are crying about it as if it hasn’t been going on for literally a decade now. Even on the thread about it there are these kids talking about how it’s a new thing that was started with Halo 4.
WHAT!?!
Crouch strafing isn’t some new cheese tactic it’s an age old means of combat in Halo. Not sure about other shooters, never tried it with them.
How many of you remember the days of people bunny hoping to get kills? Yeah, that -Yoink- was annoying right. You guys remember what stopped that? Crouch strafing, because you made yourself a smaller target instead of a big one in the air. Now it was alot harder in Halo 3, looking back I see why, our cahraters were kind of…“thick” in that game but in H2 it was a great way to fight.
Seeing so many people talking about how it’s a Halo 4 or Halo Reach thing shows on of two things.

  1. How bad you’ve been at Halo.
  2. Your noobness to the series.
Everyone, tag those peoples names down for future reference. Whenever you see them post,
“I’ve been playing Halo since 2001 I know how this game is meant to be played.”
Just point out that they didn’t even know what the -Yoink- crouch strafing was. Hell, I bet they’re the kind of people who complain that the Rocket Launcher is weak because it’s hard to shoot someone with it directly. Ugh, you people make me sick.
Also I really love the people in the thread commenting on how crazy the OP seems, alot of those are real gut busters. Go check out that thread just for them if you haven’t seen it yet.
Those are the true Halo vets.

Crouch strafing is actually a big part of halo, you could do it in H3 so it’s not a new thing. Besides its not that annoying to deal with when people do it. Here is the simple solution.
Now I myself don’t mind it it’s just a tactic

Use an automatic weapon

Just do the crab walk and Keep fraging! Hahaha

I don’t understand the controversy. It’s been around forever, but I’ve rarely seen it used, so who cares? Half the things people complain about I never even noticed.

See it’s just a tactic that some people use and is not that very annoying

Like any tactic, there is a way to counter it. I’m guilty of doing it, but I’ve played halo since Halo CE.

Apparently some people just want you to stand still so they can shoot you.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve raged before when I’ve missed the headshot on people for doing this. However, it is a tactic that people can take advantage of and everyone should stop -Yoinking!- about it being cheap. First of all when I’m on the receiving end I should only blame myself for sucking and not being able to track the guy a few inches down. Secondly, I would say if you get killed by someone who does it the chances are that they are pretty good. I use the tactic on occasion when I’m severely losing a 1v1 (and I’m bad my stats speak themselves) and I only come out on top of those situations maybe once out of every eight times because I can hardly aim and strafe let alone strafe and work my thumbstick to crouch.

People relate it to CoD drop shotting, and I just face palm

Lol wut people do that?

Welcome to the generation of “Where everyone is offended, and kids want everything handed to them for free”

Players crouching and making you miss shots? - remove crouching!
Pistol to strong? - remove it!
Ranked playlists making your self esteem go down? - make it social!
Playing halo to hard on your soft baby like hands? - Halo now plays itself!

Halo 6 - It plays itself!

…I’m honestly tilted

Next will be “Players are better than me!!!1!!!, banned all good players for us no good players can enjoy the game!”

I seeing this in the future.

Unfortuantely, yes. I say deal with it. If you can’t then it simply means you’re trash at the game.

People on another thread, one that was anti-crouch-strafing,

You my friend are a shaman! (seer)

If someone was aiming at your head in real life wouldn’t you duck?

In real life it doesn’t work out because bullets travel faster in real life than this video game. I mean you could duck but good luck.

Not in response to the firing of the weapon, you duck in the real world in response to the aim. Staying low makes you harder to hit.
