So I’m pretty sure everyone has seen at least ten negatives about the Halo: 4 multiplayer.
But what about the campaign?
To me the campaign of the game sets the rating for it, not the multiplayer. Just take a second and compare Halo: 4s campaign to ANY other Xbox 360 related game. I couldn’t think of any other game that comes close to the beauty of it. I think people should step back and admire the art that is the Halo 4 campaign.
> Campaign was pretty nice BUT NOT ON CO-OP.

> Take for instance the Ghost run. I floored it, but my friend kept getting smashed into walls and died a LOT.

> Something happened on the "death star trench run’ of the didacts ship, except this time it was me flying into walls.

> But most of the game was pretty well thought out. I loved that the Master Chief was more talkative. Made him seem more human than machine.
The trick on Co-op is to try and both keep a constant speed.
Loved it, up there as one of my favorites. Honestly I did like Bungie, I did. But to be honest they really were not good at characterization. I love the original Halos but a lot of characters were so 1 dimensional. In Halo 4 it felt like the pacing from a story telling perspective was much better. I feel like 343 blows them out of the water in that department and that it why I am looking forward to where they take the story.
Whole levels based around going from one end to the other just to press a button.
Poor character development.
Cortanna annoyingly acting worse than an obsessive girlfriend during her ‘lady time’.
The Diadact - bigg -Yoink- boss - you dont even get to fight him yourself.
Knights teleporting into stupid places instead of fighting back.
Absolutely shocking AI
Boring ‘Reach forge style’ greyish/white structures and landscape 50% of the campaign.
Meh music
Story with plot holes
poor sound/syncing
Lack of a companion player like the Arbiter
No duel Wielding
No comedy or funny moments
No Johnson
No Hornets
No Brutes
No Scarabs
Stupid and condescending CoD style button push sequences.
and a bad guy that looks like a crack riddled ageing ‘Twilight’ extra.
Otherwise i did quite enjoy it, just it did not blow me away like Halo 3 did, Even Reach was fun for me. For this game i have absolutely no desire to replay the campaign or to beat Legendary.
Still it was better than…My fav game BF3 - that campaign was shocking.
Maybe nothing can top the first time you enter the Halo universe.
I was underwhelmed by it. It was decent, but there just wasn’t enough of a replay value for me, and I dislike the majority of the characters.
Co-op was not thought through well. And as I play Coop first, I think it tainted my view on the game a bit. Take shutdown for example, 4 player coop was a horrible grind, as only 2 players, really just player 1, could do any real shooting in the pelican, the others were just along for the ride. In fact finishing the achievements is the only reason I go back, not for fun, and this is sadly the first Halo I can make that claim about the campaign.
The QTE animations really killed the replay for me as well. I will not play Dawn again for the sheer fact that the QTE’s were irritating and forced. I saw what they were trying to do with adding immersion, but I think it did the opposite and pulled me out of the game as opposed to sucking me in. It is very much like watching the animal skinning animations in RedDead, after a while you just want them to end.
I felt that there was a lot more that could have been done to change the way the player plays. With thruster and Jet packs I would have like to see more originality in level design. Such as using a thruster pack to get around sections of the Dawn to avoid having to use the QTE. It was something that was shown in the first trailer and to not have any sort of similar non QTE moments, were a let down for me.
best campaign since 1. only problem with it was it had alot of linear spaces. I think QTE were well placed mostly, ending could of used a boss battle. other than that, awesome to the sauce! only game to make me tear up other than gears 3.
