THEY SURE ARE
I guess being in an almost impenetrable suit and having super strength would let someone slack a little.
Different soldier types - ODST are the equivalent of Iwo Jima Marines - thrown at a beach (or planet) in order to safely convoy more conventional forces. Spartans are closer to Green Berets, Marine Ghost Recon, Navy SEALs - the extremely rare elite special forces used for “different” missions.
Not even close. If you put a Spartan and an ODST in the same position, the Spartan will come out on top.
I would spend years as an odst then become a Spartan
I feel they have a lot more courage compared to the Spartan IVs. They go on suicidal missions without any argumentations. Just normal (but have great training) people who know that there is a good chance they could die on their next mission. Incredible

I don’t think that’s how bravery works.
In the words of J.J.Jamerson;
"HAHAHAHA…HAHAHAHAHAHA…You serious?"
Spartans. Doesn’t mean the ODSTs aren’t cool.
I think they are to a point. They take down pairs of hunters and squads of Covies just like Spartans do.
But of course, they aren’t super human, just bad -Yoinks!-
Both are cool, but I think I prefer the Spartans.
I take more from playing as an ODST in that single game more than I have ever felt as playing a Spartan in any of the other Halo games. Reach is a stronger second however. But ODSTs, to me, I relate to more.
ODST’s become Spartans. Spartans don’t become ODST’s. I wonder why that is.
Again, you’re missing the point. Different weapons for different targets.
They are used for different situations, each have their own specific duties that make them each unique.
The ODST’s are more relatable. They are hardcore trained soldiers, without any augmentation. In real life, you could train and be like and ODST. Augmentations to be a Spartan don’t exactly exist yet!
I don’t know, lets have an ODST VS Spartan fight to the death?
(Poor ODST)

This happened in the books. Chief was only a teenager fresh out of the augmentation process. Got pushed around by some ODSTs in a boxing ring on a training station, and subsequently proceeded to beat the life out of them. No armor, not even used to his augments yet. Just pure, bone-snapping, blood-shedding, body crushing hand to hand combat.
Spartan>ODST

No, THEY SURE AREN’T. ODST’s are very lethal, but Spartans are just better for many reasons.
