Are kid halo fans good?

(Before anyone says anything, no I am not a kid. And please be optimistic about this.)

We all know there are many children playing halo now. And yes, they can be annoying (ranting, t-bagging etc.) but eventually us current halo fans will either grow to old or lose interest in the franchise. These children are the next generation of the future halo fans so don’t discourage them not to play the games. I know very well that many kids can be very annoying and act like ‘kids’ but just try to see that they are the future of halo fans or even developers.

Project Haggar is one bit of proof that Halo can appeal to a much younger audience, not to mention how well the Halo-themed Mega Bloks sets and BoomCO blasters are doing on the market.

It’s ironic that you mention this because I touched on the same fact about the new generation of Halo fans coming into the community on a different thread this morning. If you have time to read it, it’s here. I know I write a lot, but I think I made a legitimate point. What can I say, I’m passionate about Halo.

Absolutely not. More fans is bad, because that means there are more people who will just kick my -Yoink-.

my advice to not having that happen, little brother
is practice, like all skills coordination can degrade overtime, so like I said practice
I used to suck too, (not that my current K/D spread is anything to brag about) but I kept at it until I could start winning some matches
it will happen, just give it time

Yes, kids will typically be better then most adults at Halo (at least in accuracy snap shooting). The reason for this is simple… They have more time then we do and are pretty much carefree after they get back from school.

The adults have to rely on tactics usually… But that really doesn’t work all the time.

I’m assuming you mean ‘are they good for the franchise,’ rather than ‘are they good people’ or ‘are they good players.’

In my experience the value of a player to the franchise has nothing to do with age. I’ve played with and against some annoying youngsters, but in my Halo 4 days I had a couple of young kids on my friend list (yes, I know how sketchy that sounds) and they were good people - often bad at the game but extremely funny, which goes a very long way with me. I’ve also played with and against very young players (kids in my own family) who were deadly opponents and who routinely laid waste to me. Age, or lack of it, isn’t the thing that makes you valuable or worthless to the community. It’s attitude that makes a player valuable or worthless to the community.

There isn’t any reason to assume that the people ranting/teabagging etcetera are children (I’m quite guilty of the latter myself.)
You hit on the key thing for me, that is the kids playing today are going to be the foundation of the community tomorrow. A lot of the people on the forums were the ‘reach kids’ and the ‘squeakers’ from the Halo 3 days and we’re the better for it. Children grow up and become part of this community. I’d much rather see those kids become Halo fans and get taken under the wing of a more experienced player than slip into some other game.

I wouldn’t say the success of the Mega Bloks or BoomCO themed products are completely due to children. I’ve bought more then a few of their products for no reason, but the fact that I love Halo.

We were those kids once

Well said. Quite eloquent.

I feel like a bigger Halo Community is better, even if there are more kids. We could just train them or they’ll mature. I would hate to see Halo die because veterans are tired of kids.

Just as long as it doesn’t become COD. BO2 lobby memories…

I was 11 when I was playing Halo 3 and Reach and I was owning you guys! Not trying sound like I’m bragging or anything. This wasn’t ment to be rude!

Well said. Even the pros at Esports were toddlers fondling with the early consoles. But I plan to help HALO for as long as I can.
