honestly i would remove them out of ranked and only keep the ones on spawn. The amount of grenades chucked in one cubby is too much. It delineates from the so called “skill” aspect of the game.
If this is how Halo is supposed to be then yea, its not for me. I was a CoD2 pro (yes, cod2 - the second cod ever made in 2007…) Im 29 now and thought I’d give it another try at the pro scene since its the first Team vs Team shooter in years. But the nade ascpect really ftrusttrates me. I dont see any skill in it. Thanks for the replies bros.
This is literally the game tutorial and loading screen tips. The game wants you to start or end fights with grenades. They won’t “fix” it.
I usually don’t go for trowing the grenade in duels, either as a preventive strike (well placed to the enemy location) or as last resort to take him/her down with me
Plus I try not to be in duels, always following another teammate. so I don’t see much of a problem with nades.
either that or they should nerf the grenade speed or the bounciness of the nades.
If you’re having trouble with grenade spam, you’re probably in a lower skill bracket. In my experience the people that are spamming grenades nonstop are the ones that die quickly and rely on their two frags as a crutch. And if you’re getting pelted with grenades over and over, it might be time to take a step back and ask yourself if you’ve got specific habits that make you an easy target for nade spam.
For someone that was in the pro scene, I would assume you’d at least be able to look at a specific game mechanic and instantly recognize it can have a low skill floor while also have a decently high skill cap.
It has to be balanced though. The nades offer too big of a chance for low skilled players to kill players that are better than them. Its a too powerful low skilled tool.
(did I quote correctly? I changed the ID manually, didnt see any other way to quote like you).
Wanna know why people spam nades instead? Cos the aiming sucks! Desync also sucks! FPS more like FPTG
If we’re talking about a strict 1v1 scenario, I vehemently disagree. A lower skilled player isn’t going to consistently get lucky with their grenades vs someone who knows what they’re doing. A higher skill player isn’t going to blindly chase them around the corner and run into a grenade, the higher skill player isn’t going to be worse at landing grenades during a firefight, the higher skill player isn’t going to put themselves in a position where they can easily get grenade spammed around a corner.
The only time a lower skill player is going to consistently kill a higher skilled player with a grenade is when the higher skilled player is already in the middle of a firefight, and that scenario can happen with virtually any weapon.
The problem is the grenades themselves are inconsistent, which is why no skill is involved. The game does not function correctly.
Desync is definitely an issue in all parts of the game.
As far as grenade accuracy I’m pretty accurate with my grenades. At first I had a tough time but I practiced with them and I adapted. Now if you have team members that have accuracy as well and with the amount of grenades in a match spamming is very easy to do.
Grenades in Halo Infinite have been dramatically changed when compared to every game out there.
- The speed in which you can throw your second grenade has been rapidly decreased.
- Throw arcs and actual speed from A-to-B has been adjusted to make throwing them long-distance a lot less fun.
- Frag grenades throw as if you were a kid just learning how to throw a fast-ball.
- Plasma grenades throw slower as if you were throwing a paper-ball in the wind.
- Spike Grenades somehow are the worst in the game, when in Halo 3 they were the best. Like… why did they get such a hard nerf in terms of air-travel speed, fuse-timer, and with so few ricocheting spikes. I can now stick someone with a spike-grenade, and they can still kill me faster than the grenade’s fuse can.
Add on top of that that splash-damage is as inconsistent as rolling a d20 to see what level of damage you dish out; and grenades are somehow some of the most annoying things to deal with and the least effective things to utilize unless your team is spamming them in one area.
Halo recently had been very casual friendly and they won’t change that. They will always encourage frag fest.
At this rate I’m used to it, dying to CE Grenades was a big thing
Nades feel like Halo to me. I still have PTSD from the nades in CE, mmm, what a time.
Not sure if even CE grenades are more annoying than this junk games solely because of how random the bouncing is in this game and obnoxious overall they are.
Plus the damage is inconsistent. Sometimes I am 30 feet away from a grenade and go flying dead, and a minute later see my grenade land at someone’s feet and it looks like I threw a tiny pebble to mildly inconvenience them.
