Hey guys! Lately it seems like all I’m getting in my gold packs is crap like boltshots. But, even when you get the legendary reqs, there only worth like 250 rp back. Anyone else think that they should be worth like 1000-2000 RP?
(editors note: you can’t imagine how many auto corrections I had to correct.)
I mean if you chose to buy them with real money you’re the only person to blame tbf. Its only as “predatory” as you want it to be given you can literally play Halo 5 and never spend a dime on it.

Okay mate, DON’T waste your RP on a Gold Pack. It is a rip off. Until you start getting nothing from Silver Packs, don’t get Gold Packs. After getting all the common, uncommon, and rare stuff, move to Gold Packs. All the Gold Pack will have to offer is ultra rare or legendary items. All though the Req system in general is just sad.
REQ Method. Only buy silver packs until you unlock all of the rare permanents. Gold packs will then only deliver ultra rare and legendary, and it makes the system way less predatory.
I think the Req amounts could be adjusted since it’s a system that’s been in place since the game launched, but I doubt anything will happen at this point.

I don’t spend money on it. The only money I’ve ever spent on in is when I bought it, and a memories of reach pack + the voices of war pack—who hasn’t bought voices of war? If you haven’t, your missing out on yabda saying “infeeeeccttiioons” really creepily.

REQ packs were purposely made to rip off people. There’s no way a gold pack is worth over $2. Doesn’t it seem odd that the first Halo main stream game with a loot box is also the first main stream Halo game rated T?

Halo 5 is T for teens, do you really believe kids are going to be responsible for money? Loot boxes in and of themselves are designed to psychologically take advantage of children.

The main issue I see with the Gold Packs and the req system in general is lack of transparency. For instance, no information is provided about the exact probability distribution for the different items given from the packs which in turn means that it’s incredibly difficult to analyze the system. In addition to that, it’s also not 100% clear which req cards can be obtained from a given req pack.
I have for instance made a minor analysis about the req system which involves recording the content from Bronze, Silver, Gold, Daily Login/Win packs. Due to this, some aspects can be noted like that rarity (color of req card) has absolutely no resemlence about the actuall rarity of a req card. If you for instance wishes to get a Storm Rifle from a daily login pack, you are out of luck and some other req cards are incredibly rare.
