In the past few weeks I have been having some decent games (20% of the time) - teams were evenly matched, no quitters, genuine team work, etc. Years past, there were options for a lobby to stay together and keep playing. This led to longer playtimes, xbox friendships, etc.
Is this something that is a possibility going forward for Infinite?
Are lobbies still a thing post Xbox 360?
Right now when I run into a good group of folks, I send the “GG” message as the player review system is skewed for negativity feedback only.
Just to be clear, I’m not bashing Infinite - just wondering this stuff still has an interest or even is possible.

I’d love to see the option to stay with a team. I hope they do implement it at some point. Like you said it would encourage team building and communication and make for an overall more social experience for those who want it.

Great post.
Completely agree.

It is 100% possible and most people are interested in it.
It’s even possible to keep searching for matches without being tossed to the menu after each game.

This is what most people want and its definitely possible, but it wont show up ever again because this doesnt work with trueskill/sbmm in mind

They could even disable group chat/messaging if they want to avoid player abuse. Just a simple “stay with team / quit” option after a match would be nice.
I also would enjoy a, Party Up, type of system. If your random team of gamers played and/or communicated well together, then let the good times roll. I miss the early 360 days.

I have never been fond of lobbies. GEEME a Custom Game Browser over a lobby anytime.
Peace!

Like how Warzone had in COD. I don’t get how COD can have so many basic features and Halo Infinite is missing some of the easiest No trainer features from the game… And they make it seem like it’s. A huge effort to put in something like report player
Or both.
Imagine that not having to sacrifice oenthog for another
It’s quite uncommon nowadays.
And the reasons why are explained in this thread here:
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/so-sbmm-is-designed-to-decide-when-you-lose/541434/357?u=elantern
So basically, there are no lobbies because of sbmm?
I thought 343 removed lobbies and voting to just streamline everything, and to push you into their discord.
Ill go read
At least the winter update is bringing in a content browser, but I really don’t like leaving the game I’m playing to participate in said game. Forge coming is cool, but if you’re like me who doesn’t group-up with people outside of the game, forge means next to nothing since I can’t just make a custom game from people in my lobby. A lobby system would make up for the custom games browser not coming.
To be clear, improved skilled-based matchmaking, due to increasing the player availability for the matchmaker to pull from, is just one of the reasons.
Additional reasons:
-
Improved match latency. Again, due to increasing the player availability for the matchmaker to pull from.
-
Possibly the most important reason to the developers/publishers, it’s a much more efficient investment as it cuts way down on cloud service hardware costs.
-
It’s also been shown to improve player retention; particularly, amongst the casual crowd which makes up the bulk of the population.

I agree somewhat. But not having a custom game browser when forge is released IS JUST WRONG!! PERIOD!!

Yeah, custom games brower is superior, but we need something in game to group-up.
