I don’t really care to be honest. Multiplayer isn’t really about the lore, I don’t get immersed by going into a 3 lane map and killing respawning enemies (and getting killed and respawning) while weapons spontaneously generate out of random boxes on the walls and floors. If you’re looking for immersion, there’s the campaign.
Although at this point the “real” lore feels almost goofier than the multiverse mcu crap they’re pulling to excuse the mtx, so maybe the multii is the more immersive option here.
